Based on a statement by The Verge, it seems that Facebook has recently pushed out an update which allows users to have both their Messenger and Instagram chat to be combined together, allowing you to chat with users on either platform. While not much is known in regards to which Facebook-owned social media platform they plan on merging next.

"A cross-platform between Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp, you say?" Yes, it looks like this is going to happen and it's currently in development as we speak. This was discovered by @Alex193a, a reverse engineer when he was checking out some codes inside Messenger, showcasing many "whats_app" files.

If you're paranoid about your Facebook inbox messages being seen, then you'll probably like what the company is currently testing. Facebook is reportedly testing a new feature that lets you add some security to the Messenger app. Specifically, it's said that the company is working on allowing you to add another layer of protection over your inbox.

There’s a total of 5 reaction emoji(s) and another 2 others, which are thumbs up and thumbs down, which meant you could now dislike or disagree to a message. The 5 reaction emoji includes expression of love, funny, shocked, sad, and frown.
