Recently, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs has recently announced that the ceiling price of 3-ply face masks has been reduced from RM2.00 to RM1.50. The change will take effect starting from 1 April 2020 and all outlets that are distributing face masks are required to adjust their prices according to the new price ceiling.

About 223000 three-ply face masks had recently been seized by the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry from a Facebook Seller in Kota Damansara. This is due to the fact that they were selling each mask at RM3.50 a unit, instead of the ceiling price of RM2.00, which was set on 20 March 2020.

Malaysian Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has recently instructed the Ministry of Trade to regulate the prices of face masks so that it can be easily purchased by those in need. This is due to the shortages in raw materials that are usually imported from overseas that are needed to manufacture these masks.

MyEG has officially announced that they’ve thanked the Ministry of Health for removing a post on their Facebook page which claimed that that the COVID-19 rapid test kits were fake. Furthermore, MyEG has followed up by stating that the kits, which were manufactured by a Chinese biomedical firm have been cleared for use in various regions including North America, Asia, Europe, and more.

MyEG recently released a statement which was spotted on the Friends of MyEG Facebook page, stating that the COVID-19 rapid test kits that they’re offering on their official website are not fake and it's currently pending on approval from the Ministry of Health. Not only that, but they have also stated that the aforementioned kits are currently in use in regions such as China, as well as Europe.
