Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has given an update regarding Malaysia’s upcoming second 5G network, revealing that 4 mobile network operators (MNOs) have submitted bids for the network. The MNOs are CelcomDigi, Maxis, Telekom Malaysia (TM) and U Mobile.

Previously, we reported that the DNB 5G share subscription agreement (SSA) with 5 local telcos has been delayed yet again. Now, the Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) has announced that should Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) fail to reach an agreement on ownership of the DNB 5G network and the upcoming second 5G network, the government would be stepping in.

Previously, we reported on the Ministry of Communications and Digital’s (KKD) announcement that the DNB 5G share subscription agreement (SSA) with 5 telco companies would finally be signed last week. However, this never materialised and KKD Minister Fahmi Fadzil has clarified that there are still hiccups to be rectified.

The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) has revealed that the Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) share subscription agreement (SSA) is expected to be inked sometime next week. Its Minister, Fahmi Fadzil confirmed the matter recently after the agreement was up in the air and delayed several times.

Previously, we reported that Celcom, Digi, Maxis and U Mobile have accepted the offer to take an equity stake in Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB).
