Instagram has finally added a feature that many users have been requesting for ages: The ability to put more links in the bio. Announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Instagram users can now add up to 5 links to their profile bio.

While the WhatsApp app has been getting a slew of updates over the months, there's something new for the WhatsApp Desktop version as well. According to Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook post, the team just launched a new update with encrypted video calls. 

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has revealed that the company is in the midst of testing AI-powered tools for its products. These would include AI-powered chats on its messaging platforms, WhatsApp and Messenger.

Meta has announced a new feature on Instagram that should be familiar to Telegram users. Essentially Meta’s take on Telegram channels, Instagram users can expect to see a “broadcast channels” feature on the mobile app soon.

Previously, we reported that Meta is laying off more than 11,000 employees amidst a decline in revenue and now, more details have come out regarding the company’s workforce reduction. One of the more interesting detail that emerged from the whole situation is that Meta had an ongoing project to develop a smartwatch that would compete with the Apple Watch but the development has been scrapped as part of the company’s cost-cutting effort.

Meta is about to follow Twitter's footsteps to have a big-scale employee layoff. Recently, CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared that the company would cut off about 13% of employees, around 11,000 jobs, through a blog post.

Back in August, Malaysians were given a chance to test out WhatsApp Communities but that's over now. This is because the function has officially rolled out globally and it was announced by Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg himself. 

Facebook and Messenger recently announced the introduction of Community Chats, a feature that allows group organisers to create curated live Messenger chat groups similar to Discord. Through the feature, users can browse chats organised by announcements, topics, events and more instead of just relying on feed posts and comments.

Meta is preparing to reveal a new VR headset in October, as confirmed by Mark Zuckerberg himself. The source suspects it could be at the annual Connect event, which also took place in October last year.

Just yesterday, we talked about how Meta is doubling the amount of content that you don't follow on your Facebook and Instagram accounts. Personally, I'm not a big fan of this because I just want to see what my friends and family are up to. Even the Kardashians hate the new Instagram but luckily, it seems that Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri is going to make a U-turn.
