Reports have appeared claiming that a new 5.2-inch Nokia Lumia device could be on the way soon with tech specs and features very much like the Nokia Lumia 1520. The device goes by the codename of Nokia RM-964 and could come with the aforementioned 5.2-inch display with full HD pixel resolutions, a 20MP PureView camera and a Snapdragon 800 processor. Many are speculating that this could be the international version of the Nokia Lumia 929which is exclusive to Verizon in the US. While the tech specs above do make it sound interesting, it would be even better if Nokia somehow manage to slim down the device even further and add on the four HAAC microphones available on the Lumia 1520.

The Nokia Lumia 1520 was recently announced in Malaysia with a retail price of RM2159. One of the first few Nokia phablets available, the Lumia 1520 packs in tech specs which include a full HD 6-inch screen with a very good pixel density of 367ppi. The screen gets some more help with Assertive Display tech which helps make it more readable under direct sunlight without sapping too much energy. The Lumia 1520 is no slouch in the hardware department either as it offers a 2.26GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM and a large 3400 mAh battery. An excellent 20MP PureView camera rounds up the package with 3x lossless zoom, optical image stabilization, oversampling and refocusing. While there isn't any specific Malaysia release date, the Nokia Lumia 1520 will be available in Malaysia sometime in early December 2013 but you can get it for preorder at DiGi or Nokia stores. DiGi is offering the Nokia Lumia 1520 from RM1902 if you sign up for one of their related preorder plans.

The Lytro-like refocus ability first offered by the Nokia Lumia 1020 can no be enjoyed by other Lumia owners with the new Nokia Refocus app. Working like a camera app, it takes several photos using different depths of the same image. You can then choose to refocus on any spot in the picture, something which Nokia has made interactive. From our brief hands-on with the app, it works much like a filter, sharpening up the focus point and blurring out the other image depths for a very interesting Lytro camera-like effect. Bear in mind though, that if you take a blurred shot, the Nokia Refocus app won't be able to do much asides from sharpening an already blurry photo. You can easily focus back on everything, returning the photo back to normal as well as do a colour-popup as well. According to Nokia, the app is compatible with the Nokia Lumia 920, Lumia 925, Lumia 928, Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1520. The app can be downloaded at the Windows Phone store under the Nokia Collection.

Using a touchscreen device outdoor under direct Sunlight often results in a completely blank screen. While you can raise the brightness, it isn't the best of solutions as this will sap battery life very quickly. Nokia's solution for it's Lumia 1520 phablet is to use Assertive Display technology from Apical. This improves visibility under direct sunlight significantly by adjusting the colour and contrast ratio of each pixel based on the surrounding light. This active display tweaking is done quite smoothly, so much so that you'll hardly notice anything going on. Nokia have compared the Lumia 1520 Assertive Display technology with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in the video in this article.

Despite being leaked and unofficially announced a day early, the Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet finally gets officially announced at the recent Nokia World event this time with a surprise little brother in the form of the Nokia Lumia 1320. Breaking ground into phablet territory, the Lumia 1520 offers a 6-inch full HD display while the Nokia Lumia 1320 offers a 6-inch 720p display. Obviously the Lumia 1520 is the more premium device and it offers premium features like built-in Qi wireless charging along with image refocusing through oversampling just like the Lumia 1020. The Lumia 1320 is clearly the Lumia phablet for the masses and as such has lower-end tech specs and features. The full official tech specs, features, videos and links of the Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1320 can be found in this article.

Right before a big official announcement, it is very common for the device being announced to get all manner of rumours or leaks, often revealing everything or missing the mark entirely. Well, after the recent Nokia Lumia 1520 tech spec and price leak, this time around we're seeing some new image leaks of the phablet along with some accessories that could be coming with it. These accessories include the Nokia Treasure Tag, which is a small keychain-like device that rings when you set it to on the Lumia 1520 app, helping you find your keys (if only they had one small enough for glasses). The Treasure Tag works through Bluetooth and looks to be in a matching Lumia yellow, but there are probably other colours as well.
A number of protective covers for the Lumia 1520 also made an appearance in black, red and white. While it isn't exactly related to the Lumia 1520, there is also a music player going by the name of Nokia Guru, this time in cyan. The device itself looks very small, about the size of most teeny tiny MP3 players and looks to attach to a computer via microUSB. It also has a volume rocker and matching coloured in-ear headphones. Again, we think the Nokia Guru will probably come in all the other Lumia colours as well, but we'll find out for sure soon as the Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi is set to happen in the next couple of hours. No pricing details or Malaysia release dates yet but we're expecting the Nokia Lumia 1520, Nokia Treasure Tag and Nokia Guru to come our way in November 2013.
