OnePlus 2 now available in Malaysia on Maxis Zerolution at RM104 a month

The OnePlus 2 is now officially available in Malaysia exclusively via Maxis. This means if you managed to get an invite (apparently you can still get an invite), now is the time to go and validate it on the Maxis site. The OnePlus 2 offers a larger profile with a 5.5-inch FHD display and tech specs that include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB RAM and a fingerprint sensor. Pricing turns out to be RM1687 without Maxis Zerolution but with it you can get it from RM999 via a MaxisOne plan. The Maxis Zerolution program allows you to get the OnePlus 2 at RM104 a month. There is no upfront payment and the OnePlus 2 smartphone available at Maxis remains the version with 64GB worth of storage and has a Sandstone Black backplate.

OnePlus 2 will be available in Malaysia via Maxis on 22 September 2015

The OnePlus 2 will officially be available in Malaysia exclusively via Maxis on 22 September 2015 and even then, only for those who have managed to secure an invite. This means if you didn't get one in August then today is probably your last day to do so. The OnePlus 2 goes a size higher than the OnePlus One with a 5.5-inch FHD display and tech specs that include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB RAM and a fingerprint sensor. Pricing has been revealed to be RM1687 via the Maxis Zerolution program at RM104 a month. While there is no upfront payment you will have to sign up for a MaxisOne Plan from RM98 a month. The OnePlus 2 smartphone available at Maxis is the version with 64GB worth of storage and has a Sandstone Black backplate so if this still interests you, do check out the Maxis site while you still can.

Like the OnePlus One before it, Maxis is now offering invites for those Malaysians who want the OnePlus 2. Tech specs and features for the OnePlus 2 include a graphite-cooled Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, USB Type-C port, fingerprint sensor and much more. As usual of the previous Maxis-OnePlus deal, this Maxis-OnePlus 2 deal appears to be both exclusive and limited, so if you want to get the OnePlus 2 with a Maxis plan then head on over to the Maxis OnePlus 2 site soon.

OnePlus 2 confirmed to come with a fingerprint sensor

The next iteration of the OnePlus "flagship killer" the OnePlus 2 has been confirmed to come with a fingerprint sensor. Coming courtesy of OnePlus themselves, this bit of information follows their incremental approach at revealing bit by agonizing bit about their upcoming smartphone. So far, OnePlus have also confirmed that it will be using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor that won't overheat. Other details and tech specs were not available but the new fingerprint sensor will apparently be quick (which means it will likely be a one-touch type) and can store up to five fingerprints. No Malaysia release dates yet but many are expecting the OnePlus 2 on 27 July 2015.

  • Rumours: OnePlus One Mini with Snapdragon 615 coming in 2015 at $245 (RM856)

Rumours: OnePlus One Mini with Snapdragon 615 coming in 2015 at $245 (RM856)

OnePlus, the maker of the OnePlus One smartphone is reportedly working on a smaller version of the flagship device. Alleged pictures of the mini version called the OnePlus One Mini was recently spotted on the Chinese social networking website, Weibo. According to the pictures leaked, the One Mini retains most of the same design features as the OnePlus One except for the back cover which looks a bit rougher. One of the leaked images displayed the AnTuTu profile of the device revealing some of the tech specs like a Snapdragon 615 processor and a 5-inch display. Both the front and the back cameras are 8MP which is rather strange considering the flagship killer, the OnePlus One only had a 5MP front shooter. It runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS. Other tech specs such as the RAM capacity, internal storage, battery and so forth are yet to be revealed. The company is expected to announce the device in 2015 for $245 (RM856). Apart from the One Mini, OnePlus is also said to be working on the next generation of its flagship, called the OnePlus Two scheduled to release in Q2 2015. Meanwhile, the existing OnePlus One flagship is reportedly coming soon to Malaysia and that new device OnePlus recently teased is actually a 10000 mAh powerbank.

  • OnePlus Two confirmed for a Q2 2015 launch

OnePlus Two confirmed for a Q2 2015 launch

Earlier this year, the OnePlus One stirred the market with its flagship killer features and affordable pricing. Now, we are hearing that the existing flagship will soon be replaced by the second generation model called the OnePlus Two. Company director, Carl Pei recently said that they were planning to announce the OnePlus Two in Q2 or Q3 next year. This confirms the earlier rumors about a Q2 2015 launch of the next OnePlus flagship.

“We are planning to announce the OnePlus Two in Q2 or Q3 next year,” Pei said. “So it is one year after this phone [OnePlus One].

OnePlus has not yet revealed anything about its upcoming flagship, but sources at Business Insider hint that the device will come with surprises. Meanwhile, the company is looking forward to launch the device in Malaysia. In fact, they have an opening for the position of General Manager in Malaysia at the moment. Given that OnePlus One is now available in India, we expect a Malaysia release soon as well. But if you can't wait for a few more months, you can purchase the device online for about RM1250 to RM1350 from third party sellers.

  • New evolutionary OnePlus device coming soon?

New evolutionary OnePlus device coming soon?

The OnePlus One sparked the revolution of flagship smartphone features and tech specs at affordable pricing with many other smartphone manufacturers following in their footsteps. Based on current stats, the OnePlus One has already sold 500000 units, when originally they only wanted to achieve 100000. However, while the OnePlus One is still fairly flagship level, it is showing signs of age and OnePlus seem to be recognizing this by coming out with a teaser image for a new OnePlus device. According to the translation of the teaser image, OnePlus stated:

"The theory of evolution applies to all things in the world, including technological devices, so stay tuned!"

This could indicate that the OnePlus Two or a OnePlus Tablet could be coming soon. While it is still too early to say what tech specs, features, Malaysia release dates or pricing will be available, many think that the new device will utilize 64-bit components. This could mean a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM (which is one of the advantages of a 64-bit system) and a 20.7MP rear camera. Stay tuned for more details as we'll let you know as soon as we do.
