    Malaysia’s telcos score in Opensignal’s Global Mobile Awards for 4G Availability… but we expected that already

    Opensignal have recently announced the results for their Global Mobile Network Experience Awards 2022 and Netherlands is the best place for video, South Korea is the best for gaming and has fastest average download speeds (~143 Mbps) while Denmark wins it for uploading (~20.9 Mbps). Malaysia’s telcos on the other hand managed to score with improvements in 4G Availability - Global Rising Stars but after Malaysia shut down 3G mobile connectivity last year, this isn’t entirely unexpected.

    Opensignal are back with their Mobile Network Experience Report for Malaysia September 2019 with the clear winner being Celcom with awards in the Latency Experience, 4G Availability and best Video Experience. Maxis maintained and solidified their position as "King of Speed" by getting awards in both Upload and Download speed while U Mobile improved leaps and bounds with 75% faster download speeds. Surprise contender Unifi stepped up offering Best Voice App experience (for when you make calls using apps like WhatsApp and so forth) but also improved in terms of video experience as well.

    Opensignal recently revealed another report about the global smartphone mobile network experience and it revealed that for Malaysia, Samsung and Huawei smartphone users tend to get higher download speeds than Apple smartphone users. While Samsung smartphone users got the top spot of an average 16Mbps, Huawei smartphone users were just almost there at 15Mbps. Apple smartphone users were quite close still at 13Mbps.

    Maxis is now the King of 4G networks in Malaysia according to OpenSignal

    OpenSignal recently revealed their latest findings on the state of networks in Malaysia for 2018. Turns out that Maxis are now the best 4G network in Malaysia (based on the results of OpenSignal's survey). About 6 months prior to this there was a similar study conducted by OpenSignal which concluded that in terms of 4G networks, Yes 4G and Maxis were neck and neck, both scoring higher than other networks in Malaysia.

    OpenSignal recently announced test results of Malaysia's 6 main mobile operators in terms of 4G signal availability and download speeds. The results point to Yes followed by Maxis leading the pack which includes Celcom, Digi, U Mobile and Webe.
