The new Redmi 9 will indeed come with Helio G80 chipset and has a slightly larger 5,020mAh battery than expected.

Earlier, rumour has shown up telling us that the upcoming Redmi 9 will be featuring a MediaTek Helio G70 chipset. However, tipsters have revealed today that the device will instead come with a Helio G80 chipset. Although it was said that the Redmi 9 will be launched this month, we still haven't seen any official news regarding the event. Before that, let's come take a look at what are the other tech specs that have been leaked as well.

It seems that the Redmi 9 smartphone has recently been spotted on various websites, hinting that it will be unveiled somewhere around June of 2020. Not only that, but the sources also gave us an idea on what to expect when the device is officially available in Malaysia.

It seems that a user on weibo has leaked a bunch of images originating from the TENAA, which might be either the Redmi 9 or the Redmi Note 9 smartphone. Based on the images, it seems that the alleged smartphone could come with features such as a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, Dual SIM as well as a 3.5mm audio jack slot.

Xiaomi has been a hit of the town since the launch of the Redmi 8 and Redmi Note 8 series in October as it is considered as the entry level powerhouse smartphone series. Today, the company has leaked with the new Redmi 9 coming soon in early 2020.
