Counterpoint Research, a global industry analysis firm based in Asia yesterday revealed last year's top 10 best-selling smartphone models in the world and the results may surprise you. First of all, the list is dominated with Apple devices with the iPhone 12 being last year’s best-selling smartphone.

In fact, 7 out of the 10 entries are Apple smartphones, including all top 5 best-selling smartphones. However, the biggest surprises from the results have got to be the fact that no flagship Android devices made it to the list and that the best-selling Android phone last year was the Samsung Galaxy A12.

Back in February, Samsung Malaysia released a budget-friendly smartphone called the Galaxy A12 that cost RM799. If you've been eyeing this phone, maybe it's a good time to purchase it because there's a new promotion now with a RM100 rebate.

At the end of November 2020, Samsung announced two more new entry-level phones which are the Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A02s. No one really knew if they were coming to Malaysia or not but finally, Samsung Malaysia just announced the official price tag of RM799 and RM529 respectively.

In another silent release, Samsung Electronics just announced a new Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A02s. As the name suggests, these two new phones are for the budget-conscious consumers and below are the official tech specs and features.

Based on a statement by gizchina, it seems that the tech specs of the Samsung Galaxy A12 may have been leaked and it’s expected to come equipped with a large 6.4-inch display. While not much is known in regards to the exact release date, our source did mention that it will be available in 4 different colours including black, white, red, as well as blue.
