Counterpoint Research, a global industry analysis firm based in Asia yesterday revealed last year's top 10 best-selling smartphone models in the world and the results may surprise you. First of all, the list is dominated with Apple devices with the iPhone 12 being last year’s best-selling smartphone.

In fact, 7 out of the 10 entries are Apple smartphones, including all top 5 best-selling smartphones. However, the biggest surprises from the results have got to be the fact that no flagship Android devices made it to the list and that the best-selling Android phone last year was the Samsung Galaxy A12.

Back in February, Samsung Malaysia released a budget-friendly smartphone called the Galaxy A12 that cost RM799. If you've been eyeing this phone, maybe it's a good time to purchase it because there's a new promotion now with a RM100 rebate.

Based on a statement by gizchina, it seems that the tech specs of the Samsung Galaxy A12 may have been leaked and it’s expected to come equipped with a large 6.4-inch display. While not much is known in regards to the exact release date, our source did mention that it will be available in 4 different colours including black, white, red, as well as blue.
