Despite the mid-range tag on the Samsung Galaxy A50, it managed to beat out a few of the older flagships out on the market in terms of camera. The device’s triple camera setup managed to score a decent 83 points on DxOMark. 

Joining the Samsung Galaxy M series soon will be the Samsung Galaxy M40 on June 11. As far as rumours go, this device may be highest spec in the series for now. Earlier today, renders of the device have leaked, showing off the Infinity-O display, a triple rear camera setup, a rear mounted fingerprint scanner and a pretty thin chin as well as slim bezels.

Smartphones can be divided into three basic categories – entry-level, mid-range and flagship. The differences between Samsung’s entry-level and mid-range phones are very subtle, like the Samsung Galaxy J series (J1 to J8) offers entry-level and mid-range models. On the other hand, the Samsung A series features IP68 water-resistance and dual selfie cameras, but spec-wise they are still very similar to the Galaxy J5 and above.

In 2019, Samsung decided to reposition its phone product categories. Their Galaxy J series has been discontinued and replaced by the Galaxy M series, whereas the Samsung Galaxy A series has been repositioned with different specs and features. Samsung Galaxy A50’s biggest update is now here. The update improves the much complained about fingerprint reader, the camera and Bixby. It is pretty huge, 666MB in size with the software version A505FDDU1ASD6.

Following the launch of the Galaxy M20 which happened this morning, Samsung has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy A30 as well as the Galaxy A50 starting from RM799 and RM1199 respectively. While the Galaxy A50 utilizes an Exynos 9610 chipset with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage, the Galaxy A30 offers an Exynos 7904 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64 GB of storage.

The Samsung Galaxy A60 now has a confirmed launch date which is on the 19th of April. What you can expect on the device is high specs at an incredibly affordable price tag just like its siblings, the Samsung Galaxy A10, A30 and A50.
