While we wait for Samsung to re-launch their upcoming Samsung Galaxy Fold, Samsung has apparently been hard at work on another foldable smartphone. The smartphone patent has the smartphone folding into a Z shape where it can bend in two places.

Earlier this year, Samsung had announced their first foldable smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Fold alongside their highly successful Samsung Galaxy S10 series. Ironically, the foldable smartphone was a huge fail after the company sent some review units out and found the devices to be fragile and malfunctioning.

We’re all still awaiting the Samsung Galaxy Fold to be released since the disastrous news of how the device malfunctioned when it got into reviewers’ hands. Samsung co-CEO, DJ Koh admits that he had “pushed it through before it was ready” and “had missed something on the foldable phone”.

Based on an article by thelec.kr, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is currently in the planning phase and it should be available for purchase somewhere around early 2020. While not much is known in regards to the tech specs, the upcoming foldable smartphone is expected to feature an 8-inch fold-in display as well as S Pen support.

We are halfway through 2019 and there's still no sign of the Samsung Galaxy Fold which was supposed to make its debut in early May in Malaysia. Understandably, Samsung recalled most of the devices back in order to have another round of test to ensure the display are working with the ambiguity of the release date, but according to one Samsung executive, it's "ready to hit the market."

The Samsung Galaxy Fold, which was delayed due to various technical issues presented by the foldable screen, is finally given an availability window somewhere around July of 2019. That being said, there will probably be a press conference held in which they'll address the issues and the steps Samsung has taken to fix it.

As of yesterday, we’ve heard that the Samsung Galaxy Fold launch in Shanghai on the 24th and 26th of April was to be postponed due to venue issues. Today, the Korean manufacturer released an official statement in regards to the issue which came as no surprise due to the horrendous display issue that has been going on with the Fold.
