We are halfway through 2019 and there's still no sign of the Samsung Galaxy Fold which was supposed to make its debut in early May in Malaysia. Understandably, Samsung recalled most of the devices back in order to have another round of test to ensure the display are working with the ambiguity of the release date, but according to one Samsung executive, it's "ready to hit the market."

The Samsung Galaxy Fold, which was delayed due to various technical issues presented by the foldable screen, is finally given an availability window somewhere around July of 2019. That being said, there will probably be a press conference held in which they'll address the issues and the steps Samsung has taken to fix it.

Supposedly, the Samsung Galaxy Fold was to make its debut in Malaysia during early May and they have been quite quiet ever since the numerous reports of having broken screens. The units have been called back and it seems that we have a new report on its current status.

As of yesterday, we’ve heard that the Samsung Galaxy Fold launch in Shanghai on the 24th and 26th of April was to be postponed due to venue issues. Today, the Korean manufacturer released an official statement in regards to the issue which came as no surprise due to the horrendous display issue that has been going on with the Fold.

So you probably have seen news about the Samsung Galaxy Fold already. Samsung has already sent a couple of boxes to a few celebrities doing their own unboxing and it was exciting. But that all came down crashing when several reports of the foldable phone screen began cracking. This doesn't look too well for Samsung, but this is what they have to say with an official statement:

Samsung has given us a heads-up that the Samsung Galaxy Fold will be launched in Malaysia on 3 May 2019 at 9:30AM. Unfortunately, other than the invitation that was sent to us, Samsung did not disclose the official local price of their first foldable smartphone.

If you’ve doubted the Samsung Galaxy Fold’s folding abilities, this video should probably clear any doubts you had before. Samsung uploaded a video on Youtube, showing off the folding capability of the device in a stress test.

If I’m spending about USD$1980 (~RM8064) on the Samsung Galaxy Fold you bet I’m gonna be protecting that device better than I protect myself. Seeing the how limited in the market the device is, you’d assume the protective case would cost you an arm and a leg but that isn’t the case at all!

The Samsung Galaxy Fold comes with a pretty huge price tag which starts at USD$1980 (~RM8051). According to Samsung, with that price tag, you aren’t only getting the device out of it but also a ‘concierge-like experience’ as well.
