Do you remember the Samsung Galaxy Folder? Neither did we. It doesn’t stop Samsung from coming up with a sequel though. The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 just received its TENAA certification from China, and It will be out in that market real soon.

You have to agree with us – while today's smartphones are all powerful and full featured, the act of opening up a flip phone is something very classical and classy. That flip action is something to be envied, and Samsung is set to bring it again to a new device, possibly an update to the Galaxy Folder.

In a move which looks to revive the clamshell mobile phone form factor, Samsung are reportedly making a dual-screen clamshell flip phone which they may call the Samsung Galaxy Golden (perhaps in reference to the Golden age of clamshell-type mobile phones?). While it initially appeared as the Samsung Galaxy Folder and looked to be a dead prototype, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy Golden may actually arrive soon, perhaps for the South Korean market first. Tech specs for the Golden now include:
- 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor
- 2x 3.7-inch AMOLED display (800 x 480 resolution)
- 2GB RAM
- 1820 mAh battery

Many would say that the clamshell or flip-phone form factor died a long time ago, but there are rumours that Samsung will be developing a clamshell Android smartphone in the not-so-far-off-future. The phone will be called the Samsung Galaxy Folder and be powered by Android. It will have a classic alphanumeric keyboard attached to a touchscreen. Tech specs for the Samsung Galaxy Folder include:

- 800 x 480 pixel display
- Supports LTE
- Android 4.2.2
