OnePlus has promised us a smartphone with some awesome hardware built in. These tech specs include a Snapdragon 800 processor which is the same as the current range of flagship smartphones now. Surprisingly, the OnePlus One smartphone has managed to outdo many of these smartphones with an AnTuTu Benchmark score of 35715, placing it above the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, LG G2 and Sony Xperia Z Ultra. Malaysia release dates and pricing have yet to be revealed but it could go from $400 (RM1312) and be available from Q2 of 2014.

DiGi release new device bundles for DG SmartPlan

In line with their new 4G LTE enabled DG SmartPlan, DiGi have also revealed new device bundles for the Motorola Moto G, Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy, Huawei Ascend G510, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro, Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia C, Sony Xperia Z Ultra and Sony Xperia Z1. These include the DG SmartPlan 50, DG SmartPlan 78, DG SmartPlan 108 and DG SmartPlan 148. Bear in mind that since these are postpaid plans you'll still have to sign up for the devices under either a 12-month or 24-month contract. However, DiGi have simplified this somewhat by having all contract device bundles under the DG SmartPlan set at 12-months while the other three plans are set at 24-month contracts. • Samsung announces Galaxy Note 3 Neo and Galaxy Note 3 Neo LTE+, hexa-core processor included

Samsung announces Galaxy Note 3 Neo and Galaxy Note 3 Neo LTE+, hexa-core processor included
Samsung has finally announced the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo and an LTE version called the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo LTE+. Offering the same artificial leather backside and outer look and feel as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the Note 3 Neo smartphones are designed for the more affordable and as such also cuts down on certain tech specs. The most notable is the fact that both versions are now using hexa-core processors based on a Samsung Exynos chipset. This chipset follows the big.LITTLE ARM architecture with a dual-core 1.7GHz A15 processor for the main processing and a 1.3GHZ quad-core A7 set for when the smartphone is running on lower power. The non-LTE version will offer a slightly higher-clocked set of quad-core processors going at 1.6GHz. Other tech specs and features include
    • 5.5-inch AMOLED display at 720 x 1280 pixel resolution
    • 2GB RAM
    • 16GB storage + microSD
    • Samsung S Pen stylus support
    • WiFi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4 LE, NFC, IR blaster
    • 8MP rear camera
    • 3100 mAh battery

Samsung Galaxy Gear can now work with the Nexus 5

While the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch probably offers the most in terms of functionality for any smartwatch currently on the market one of it's main limitations was that it only works with certain Samsung smartphones. This short compatibility list included the Samsung Galaxy Note 3Note 2S4 and S3 with Android 4.3 firmware. However, this is no longer the case as Smart Watch Fans have come up with a guide showing how to make the Galaxy Gear smartwatch work with a Nexus 5 smartphone. It may require you to download some files, extract them and rename them, but there isn't any arduous programming or too-technical stuff to do to make it work. Do bear in mind that most of the apps work, except for S-Voice and Weather. Other smartwatch fans are saying that they have also made the Galaxy Gear work with the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, provided that it is the pure vanilla Google Edition version.

  • Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite already passed by FCC

Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite already passed by FCC

The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 continued the large but budget smartphone trend when it was released but fearing that the price for it may have been a bit too high, Samsung quickly came out with the Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite. Now, the Galaxy Grand Lite has yet to be officially announced, and is expected to be revealed at MWC 2014, but it has already passed the FCC in the US. This basically confirms it's existance along with it's model number which will be the GT-I9060. Unfortunately, the FCC isn't as revealing as Tenaa in China with the only other tech specs to be revealed being a 2100 mAh battery and the ability to connect via WiFi and Bluetooth.

  • Samsung GamePad officially announced, turns your Android smartphone into a gaming console

Samsung GamePad officially announced, turns your Android smartphone into a gaming console

While it originally came out as the gaming accessory which revealed the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 a little too early, Samsung recently announced the GamePad for Android smartphones. Unlike the initial all white device the current GamePad is various shades of black, silver and grey with two joysticks, four buttons and a round directional keypad. The top slides out to hold the Android smartphone of your choice (it doesn't have to be the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 like in the picture) and it pairs up using NFC and Bluetooth. The slider can fit any smartphone from 4-inches to 6.3-inches wide and is compatible with Android 4.1 and Bluetooth 3.0 or higher but runs better with Samsung Galaxy devices using Android 4.3 and above.
