Rumours have been saying that the next generation Samsung Galaxy S flagship series won't feature the in-house Exynos chip. Today, we might have gotten the confirmation from Qualcomm with an executive spilling the tea at a recent conference.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip is not that far from us, as Qualcomm already announced that the next Snapdragon Summit will get held on 14 November. A reputable tipster is now letting us know what to expect before the next-gen flagship chip arrives, and it's regarding the improvement in energy efficiency.

In recent years, Exynos chips have struggled to impress. Although the Exynos 2100 was a decent match for Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 beats it handily. This could be why next year's Samsung Galaxy S23 series could be Snapdragon-only for global fans.

As the naming scheme goes, the next Samsung Galaxy S series flagship would most probably be called the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. It's normal to expect some upgrades but there is new rumour news that the telephoto camera could stay the same.

Samsung has always depended on Qualcomm Snapdragon and its own Exynos for its flagship devices. If this new information were accurate, the Korean tech giant could trust the MediaTek chips to power its flagship lineup in the future, which it has been only using for budget devices.
