After being dropped, run over and dunked into an aquarium, the Samsung Galaxy S5 goes through a number of other water tests to see how far it can go. While the first test just pushes the Galaxy S5 a bit more than the IP67 certification states (depth of 1m for 30 minutes) in a pool, the second test is a lot more extreme and involves a pair of blue jeans and a washing machine. Like all of these water-proofed devices, the key to water proofing lays in the sealing, which Samsung seem to have pulled off much better than their first Samsung Galaxy S4 Active attempt. When the Samsung Galaxy S4 first got launched it was quickly followed by a number of other smartphones with the same design but different tech specs and features for specific needs. One of these smartphones was the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and it was one of the few smartphones from Samsung to get water proofing. While we've yet to hear anything about a Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, mainly because the Samsung Galaxy S5 is already dust and water proof,  @evleaks suggests that a Samsung Galaxy S5 Active smartphone is still coming under the model name of SM-G870x. Instead of just IP67 certification, it could offer MIL-STD-810G certification which would offer proofing for dust, heat, humidity, rain, salt, solar radiation, transportation, shock and vibration on top of just water proofing. No news on specific Malaysia release dates, tech specs or features but the master leaker expects the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active to come by the end of 2014.

While compatibility with just the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Note 10.1 2014 Edition is one of the main constraints of the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch, this may no longer be the case as Samsung have announced that quite a few Galaxy devices are going to get compatible soon. This includes the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S III and Samsung Galaxy Note II as soon as they receive their Android 4.3 updates, which are currently being rolled out in phases. Following these are the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, S4 Active, Mega 5.8, Mega 6.3 and S4 Zoom. While the software update will again be released in phases, these devices will begin getting the update by the end of October. Bear in mind though that certain functions and features available for use on the Samsung Galaxy Gear will depend on the tech specs available to each device.

Celcom is currently offering 2 new devices for their Celcom First plans in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 will be offered from RM888 while the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will be offered from RM1388. Both are available on the Celcom First voice and / or data plans under 12 month or 18  month contracts.

Both devices offer LTE support but while the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 is a dual-core 8-inch tablet, the Galaxy S4 Active is the rugged waterproof version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone. It hasn't been more than 2 months and already the Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500 is getting a significant price cut from RM2199 to RM1850 for a total deduction of RM349 for the 16GB version. Samsung have also slashed the Galaxy Note II price down from RM1999 to RM1680. A quick glance at other retailers have the Samsung Galaxy S III retailing at RM1380 from RM1699 and the Samsung Galaxy Grand at RM1040 from RM1299. Even the more recnet Samsung Galaxy S4 4G LTE version with 32GB storage is set to get a price cut from RM2499 to RM2299. All of these models and prices are listed below:

After the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active got it's official confirmation it is now time for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom to get it's official announcement. Is it the Samsung Galaxy Camera's little brother or is it the Samsung Galaxy Camera II? Regardless, it looks like a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini on the back and a Samsung ultracompact digital camera at the front, complete with 10x telescopic optical lens. Another Samsung Galaxy S4 version that has so far not been revealed has just made it's first appearance. After the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and Active, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom finally shows up with leaked images from two rather well known rumour sites. They confirm that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is going to be a cameraphone something along the lines of Samsung’s Galaxy Camera.  Rumoured tech specs for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom include:

After months of rumours, Samsung have officially announced their rugged, water-proof Samsung Galaxy S4 Active smartphone. While we're wondering what they are going to reveal at the Samsung Premiere event on 20 June 2013, it does confirm quite a lot of rumours that have spread about the Galaxy S4 Active.
