The recently revealed Samsung Galaxy S7 builds upon the winning design of the previous Galaxy S6 but now features IP68 water resistance rating higher than the IP67 water reistance of the Galaxy S5. Technically, this means you can now bring it swimming for up to 1.5 meters and 30 minutes, but T-Mobile went a step further and did an underwater unboxing and first impressions video. The annual CES event will kick off early in January next year and Samsung will make an appearance there, events like this is the time when tech companies present their newest flagship but that doesn’t seem to be the case for Samsung.
An announcement from CES revealed that Samsung will be presenting “innovations in TVs and home appliances”, so that means the rumour of the Samsung Galaxy S7 or the new 2016 Galaxy A series (A3, A5, A7 and A9) won’t likely make their debut that early. Howver, let's not rule out that it’s still possible that they will appear in the first half of 2016.

So apparently, there's a leaked image of showing various Samsung Galaxy models to be updated with Android Marshmallow. Similarly to Marvel Studio Cinematic Phase plans, the image are showing 2 phase plans of which model will be updated first. There's also a third phase, but as of now there are no plans yet and it will only commence after initial testing (same goes to the n/a status below).

According to Weibo, there are rumours going around that analyst Pan Jiutang was heard to be saying Samsung is considering a 10% discount on the Samsung Galaxy 7 when it debuts next year.
Recalling the past, Samsung did the same strategy for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge by cutting 10% too, and it seems to be a good marketing strategy for the group in their last quarter which ended on a positive financial note thanks to the good sales of flagship devices. On the other hand, they’re doing this to also keep themselves in the competition with various Chinese smartphone manufacturers heating up price wars in retail and online channels.

It has only been recently that the Samsung Galaxy Note phablets have started looking better than just oversized slate smartphones with built-in styluses, but even the previous Galaxy Note 4 wasn't the most fashionable phablet around. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 on the other hand, features a metal and glass design that is both striking and premium looking, quite easily making it the best looking Note phablet yet. Meizu recently announced their latest Meizu PRO 5 smartphone with a full metal body and Samsung Exynos 7420 processor (the same one used in the Samsung Galaxy S6). Other tech specs and features include a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED FHD display, 3GB / 4GB RAM, 32GB / 64GB storage, 21MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 4G+ LTE, USB Type-C port with quick charging and Hi-Fi audio technology. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet but the Meizu PRO 5 is due in China on 12 October 2015 with two versions. The version with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage will go for 2800 CNY (RM1924) while the version with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at 3100 CNY (RM2130). Since Meizu already have a Malaysian branch we expect the Meizu PRO 5 to make an appearance in the coming months.

The recent launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 saw the Note phablets taking a turn to the fashionable side as it now comes with a Samsung Galaxy S6 inspired design of premium metal and glass. Gone are the leather-like patterns on the back but this isn't a bad thing as you can see with our hands-on video of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Priced at RM2699, the Galaxy Note 5 offers a number of new and improved features not least of which include a faster Samsung Exynos processor, 16MP ISOCELL rear camera and spring-loaded S-Pen stylus. Samsung Malaysia have officially launched their Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ smartphones for Malaysia today with the roadshows kicking off at Gurney Plaza Penang (4 - 6 September), Sunway Pyramid (4 - 9 September) and Sutera Mall Johor Bahru (4 - 6 September). No surprises here as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be offered at RM2699 while the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ is going for RM3099. Thankfully, you still get free accessories worth up to RM538, up to half-price discounts for the second Galaxy Note 5 purchased and a trade-in program for current Galaxy Note users to receive discounts from RM200 to RM1150. The two smartphones will be available in Malaysia starting from tomorrow on 4 September 2015 but hit the roadshows early for the promotions.
To reiterate, the free accessories include a 11300 mAh battery pack for RM306 and a wireless charger worth RM232. The 50% off discount for the second Galaxy Note 5 means you have to purchase two Galaxy Note 5 smartphones and pay full price (RM2699) for the first Note 5 and 50% off for the second Note 5, but you have to be among the first 100 to line up for the Sunway Pyramid roadshow or the first 50 at the other roadshow locations. The trade-in program will still let you trade in your Galaxy Note for RM200, Note 2 for RM600, Note 3 for RM800 and Note 4 for RM1150.
