  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S Review

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S Review

Sony refreshed its arc line-up at IFA 2011, with the company announcing the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S, a smartphone that has been given something of a speed injection – Sony is quoting speeds 25 per cent faster than its predecessor, the Sony Ericsson Arc.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S: Design

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S is a beautiful piece of kit. Given that the original Arc is still one of the best-designed Android devices around it's good to see that not much has been changed from a chassis point of view. The handset is gloriously sleek and slim at just 8.7mm thick and with it's slightly bowed chassis design. At 125 x 63 mm its a phone with a large footprint.

    Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro Review

Sony’s latest incarnation the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro has finally entered UK shores with the latest Android version Gingerbread onboard along with a sleek QWERTY keyboard to eradicate all typing hassles.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro - Design & Display:

Weighing just 142 grams, the handset integrates a vibrant LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen that’s entirely Scratch-resistant, but most crucially has the Sony’s latest Mobile BRAVIA Engine built in. Numerous mobile phone reviews claim that the BRAVIA engine does an exceptional job of making every picture or video look vibrant on the 3.7 inch display. While LED technology hasn’t evolved enough to be counted amongst Super AMOLED display’s, but the Pro has certainly closed out the gap. The Pro also features a Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, enhanced Multi-touch input method and the innovative Timescape UI for the display.

  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Review

    Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Review

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is different to any other phone on the market and to me is a magical little device. Thanks to the iPhone, mobile gaming is massive now. Games like Angry Birds have made mobile gaming big business and the best way to spend your time when on the train.

This is the much-fabled 'Playstation Phone' that everyone dreamt about and gives Sony an edge over all their rivals by putting their PlayStation brand with the Xperia line. What you get is a great phone and a great gaming experience all in one.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play - Hardware:

The Play is very comfortable and the slide-out joypad is brilliant. They have the iconic PlayStation controls and are so comfortable to play with. You get the D-pad button on the left and the four iconic PS buttons (circle, square, triangle, and cross) on the right. The L and R buttons sit on the shoulder and are probably the most uncomfortable part of this gaming experience but even they aren't that bad and you get used to them really quickly.

Sony Ericsson's smartphone regeneration continues with the stunning Arc

Until recently it was fair to say that Sony Ericsson has had a rocky ride with Android handsets. With its flagship 2010 Xperia X10 being somewhat left behind by HTC and Samsung.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc - Build:

It’s fair to say the Arc is one of the most stunning handsets we’ve seen recently. Just 8.7mm deep and weighing a lightweight 117g the slight curve the body has been ergonomically designed to sit comfortably in your hand. The back of which has a two-tone coating from dark to pale blue, which looks a lot nicer than it sounds. Best of all is the screen. At 4.2-inches it dominates the front, the dark frame ensuring it blends seamlessly into the edges.

  • Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Review

    Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Review

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is Sony Ericsson’s first foray into the world of the Android phone. The X10 would enter the market as a flagship product, so this is quite a unique occurrence in that Sony Ericsson has decided to move away from its UIQ Symbian flagship phones and try out something new.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 - Design & Build:

The paintjob on the back of the device will likely get scratches from repeated contact with wherever you put it down. Almost the entire front of the device is the screen itself, and a lot of care has to be taken so as not to crack or scratch the screen.

The power button and USB port is on the top of the device, while a volume toggle and the camera hotkey run down the right side of the device. The three buttons below the screen are mainly softkeys to navigate around the interface, so what we can surmise from this arrangement of buttons is that the USB port does double duty for charging the phone and also for any data transfer that you might want to do with your computer. The screen is four inches or 10 cm across diagonally, so that would make it the largest Android screen handset on the market right now.

  • Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Review

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Review

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini is truly a unique smartphone. With a form-factor unlike any other Android device, our final review is sure to be very interesting. So, check it out below!

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini - Design and Build Quality:

The most striking aspect of the X10 Mini is definitely its design and size. You will not believe how tiny the device is till you see one and hold it. The phone is unbelievably small and can be mistaken for a toy phone.

The phone measures at 83x50x16mm which means it’s very small but a tad bit thick for today’s standards. But the thickness is expected because they have to cram all the features in such a small body. The weight of the phone is 88 grams which is very little. You can put it in your pocket and forget that it’s there.

  • Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro Review

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro Review

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro manages to pack loads of features into an eye-squintingly small package, just like its sibling, the Xperia X10 Mini. But the Mini Pro adds a slide-out Qwerty keyboard, making it the most usable miniature smart phone.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini Pro – Features:

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro mobile phone offers the superb combination of excellent touch screen features and the power of full QWERTY keyboard. The handset also brings in the Timescape application by the help of which you can combine your entire messages and social networks into one place. The home screen widgets are customizable for the easy access of the users. Apart from the default widgets, the users can also download new applications from the Android market. The SE XPERIA X10 Mini Pro runs on Android 1.6 and provides some amazing list of features. Some of the major highlights of the mobile phone include 2.55 inches touch screen, 5 mega pixel camera, up to 16 GB memory support, A-GPS support, standard Li-Po battery, etc.

    Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray Review

After the big names like Nokia announced of N9 smartphone, we have a major update from Sony Ericsson. One would be expecting the higher end version of Sony Xperia but unfortunately Sony goes for mid-range Xperia Ray.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray - Features & Processor:

Sony Ericsson ST18i or Sony Ericsson Urushi refers to the handset Sony Xperia Ray. From the front it’s a 3G mobile phone running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system with quite a good number of features with beautiful design. Its powered with 1 Ghz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU with Snapdragon chipset.

  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo Review

    Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo Review

Sony Ericsson has recently announced a mobile phone, called the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo. The similarity of Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo with SE Vivaz ends with the form factor. The phone definitely looks cute and attractive. It may not be as dashing and high-end as Samsung Galaxy S II, which is also announced during the same period, but it definitely has its own sets of appeal. The handset fits well on your palm and you will surely like its semi-anodised finish along with easy to access key arrangement at the front and superb front facing camera. The cool ear piece and light sensor adds up to the benefits of the device.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo – Control:

The quality of the sensor is definitely much better than the usual VGA hardware devices that are available in plenty these days. Apart from that, the other furniture of the phone is nicely arranged as well. You can easily access the power or lock key in the right side of the phone, irrespective of the big screen display. Right under it, you can access the volume key to control the sound. In fact, you can easily adjust the volume by holding the phone to your ears.
