  • U Mobile launches 4G LTE for almost all users

U Mobile launches 4G LTE for almost all users

As teased earlier, U Mobile has finally launched 4G LTE on their networks. Offering up to 75Mbps speeds the service currently covers Bandar Sunway, Berjaya Times Square, Puchong and Taman Molek, Johor Bahru. While the coverage areas are still rather limited, U Mobile have done good on their claim of 4G for all by opening it up to Prepaid, Postpaid and Broadband users. This means you don't need to get a new 4G LTE SIM card to get on U Mobile's 4G LTE network. As long as you have an LTE capable device and a U Mobile SIM all you need to do is send 'LTE ON' to 28118. • Sony Xperia Z1s (Xperia Z1 mini) images leak

Sony Xperia Z1s (Xperia Z1 mini) images leak

The Sony Xperia Z1s is supposedly the mini international version of Sony's flagship Xperia Z1 cameraphone. What makes it so different from all the other mini smartphones is that while the battery and screen size have been shrunk down to 4.3-inch display sized smartphone, the Xperia Z1s retains most of the hardware that makes the Xperia Z1 such an awesome cameraphone. This includes tech specs like the Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 20.7MP camera. Recently, leaked images of the Sony Xperia Z1s have leaked confirming this. While the overall design looks more or less the same as the Z1, the shrink makes the bezels look larger than they really are. The only noticeable change seems to be the Sony brand instead of DoCoMo which came out in the Japan only version. No details on specific Malaysia release dates but we expect the official announcment to come any day now. For now, check out the pics of the Sony Xperia Z1s in this article.

  • Rumours: Sony to hold 12 November 2013 event for Xperia Z1S?

Rumours: Sony to hold 12 November 2013 event for Xperia Z1S?

Reports have surfaced that Sony Mobile may hold an unveiling event on 12 November 2013 where they will reveal 2 new devices. These devices include the Sony Xperia Z1S which could be the international mini version of the Sony Xperia Z1. Tech specs and features for the Xperia Z1S are identical with the Sony Xperia Z1 asides from the screen and battery so there is still a 20MP camera sensor with G Lens and Snapdragon 800 processor but with a more compact 4.3-inch 720 x 1280 screen. The other device is said to be the Sony Xperia Tianchi / Taichi which could be a phablet due to it's 6-inch 720 x 1280 pixel display. Tech specs for the Tianchi / Taichi are very few with the only known spec being the processor, which could be the latest 8-core processor from MediaTek. Bear in mind that these are just rumours though so take them with a pinch of salt. In any case, we won't have to wait long to find out for sure.

  • Sony Xperia Z1f (Z1 mini) performs unlike a mini on benchmark

Sony Xperia Z1f (Z1 mini) performs unlike a mini on benchmark

While we've known that the Sony Xperia Z1f or the mini version of the Sony Xperia Z1 would most probably arrive, we've still not confirmed whether or not it is just a smaller version with the same tech specs and hardware (asides from the battery and screen size of course) or is it just another cut-down mini version? Recent AnTuTu benchmarks have appeared showing that it could well be the former as the Z1f gets a score of 34376 compared to the 30838 of the Sony Xperia Z1. This is partly because the screen is smaller and the GPU can do more. Check out the benchmark score in the video below. Tech specs for the Z1f are so far confirmed the same as the Z1 including:

    • 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 chipset
    • Adreno 330 graphics
    • 4.3-inch display (720p)
    • 2GB RAM
    • 20.7MP camera
