Sony is back once again with its 2018 Sony World Photography Awards, in case you're wondering what is that - it's one of the world's leading photography competitions and it's also now open for entries, allowing any free submissions at www.worldphoto.org. With this, the Malaysia National Award is open to photographers of all abilities from Malaysia.

In conjunction with the 2017 Sony World Photography Awards, the judges have spoken and shortlisted five Malaysian photographers into the world’s top ten in the awards ‘Open and Student Focus’ competition. The five photographers are Nursyafiqah Azlan, Ann Ric, Foley Hits, Jian Seng Soh, and Yong Lin Tan. Below is the list of categories and image title the participants took:

In just a few hours ago, it was reported that Sony has introduced the world’s first 3-layer stacked CMOS image sensor. In other words, Sony was able to create a 1080p video at 1000fps, thanks to the added DRAM to the image sensor to capture images in high-speed.

As of 17 January 2017, the World Photography Organisation has announced British documentary photographer Martin Parr as the recipient of its Outstanding Contribution to Photography title. The photographer will collect his title at the 2017 Sony World Photography Awards ceremony held in London on Thursday, 20 April 2017.

When Sony revealed their three new camera-centric Xperia X series at the MWC 2016, words went around that Sony had actually replaced the Xperia Z series with those new smartphones. Well, turns out that it was true. As news just came yesterday that Sony Mobile is indeed discontinuing the Xperia Z series, here's what they have to say:-
