Anthony Loke, Malaysia’s Minister of Transportation recently announced that all public transportation will apply an open payment system so you may be able to use credit and debit cards to pay for Public Transportation. Previously, you could only use tokens or Touch N’ Go cards to make digital payments for Public Transportation like buses, LRT, MRT and Komuter.

This is because the word “Touch ’n Go” is synonymous with the toll payment system, hence it would confuse the public who may get the visa card for the purposes of paying for tolls when the card is unable to do so.
