Just yesterday, a short clip of Singaporean comedian Jocelyn Chia was circulating around the internet and apparently caused a lot of controversy. As a result of her outrageous jokes with reference to Malaysia, particularly the tragic MH370, her Instagram and Twitter account got suspended.

Twitter has decided that its paying customers should be rewarded with more. Elon Musk has been adding increasingly more features to the platform's Twitter Blue subscription plan, and the latest one is more than a bit head-scratch inducing.

In his quest to make Twitter an "Everything App", Elon Musk has continuously pushed for new features. These aren't features that improve on what Twitter already does, but aim to add new functionality to the platform. For instance, voice calls.

Since the takeover by Elon Musk, Twitter has been implementing various changes that many users of the platform are now a fan of. Well, the company has announced yet another change recently, this time the increase of the tweet limit to 10,000 characters for paid users.

If you’re a Twitter user, then you’ve definitely noticed something different about the platform recently. In the latest of many changes since Elon Musk’s takeover, the iconic Twitter bluebird logo has now been changed to the Shiba Inu meme, the same being used as the cryptocurrency Dogecoin’s symbol.

As of 1 April 2023, Twitter stayed true to its word on removing verification badges from official accounts. This applies to accounts that already have the blue tick but only if they don't pay for it.

Twitter will be making yet another change since the takeover by billionaire Elon Musk, this time in regard to recommended tweets. Taking to, well, Twitter, Musk announced that starting 15 April, only verified accounts would be recommended on the “For You” page on the platform.

As you know, Twitter is the first company with the concept of verified social media accounts. Meta decided to jump on the bandwagon and started testing its Meta Verified in Australia and New Zealand last month. Now, the company is ready for the service to go live.

Twitter Blue has been an on-and-off-topic for a couple of months ever since Elon Musk took over Twitter, but it looks like the company is finally knowing what to do with it. Today, Twitter Blue is officially launching and verified Malaysian users would need to pay as low as RM30.75 per month.

It looks like Meta is following in Twitter’s footsteps by introducing a paid verification service on its social media platforms Facebook and Instagram. Dubbed “Meta Verified”, the USD14.99 or ~RM66 on web and USD11.99 or ~RM53 on mobile monthly subscription service is currently being tested in Australia and New Zealand this week.
