U Mobile has officially launched its next-generation 5G network—branded as ULTRA5G—marking a major milestone in Malaysia’s digital infrastructure evolution. Designed with professional use in mind, ULTRA5G promises ultra-reliable connectivity, enhanced indoor coverage, and enterprise-grade performance powered by the latest 5G Standalone (SA) architecture.

In preparation for its Next Gen 5G network, U Mobile has inked a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Melaka ICT Holdings Sdn Bhd (MICTH). The partnership is another step towards U Mobile’s goal of achieving 80% nationwide coverage of populated areas (CoPA) by the second half of 2026.

As U Mobile continues to build up its Next-Gen 5G network, the company has formalised a strategic partnership with OCK Telco Infra Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of OCK Group Berhad, Malaysia’s largest telecommunications network solutions provider. Today, U Mobile has once again made another strategic partnership, this time with Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), to accelerate the nationwide deployment of its 5G network. It will be a 10-year agreement, valued at RM2.4 billion, and was formalised today at a signing ceremony held at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara.  

Today, The Edge reported that U Mobile has agreed to sell its entire 100,000 shares in Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) for RM100,000. The shares will be acquired by CelcomDigi, Maxis, YTL Power International, and the Minister of Finance Inc (MOF Inc), according to filings with Bursa Malaysia.
