When Facebook rolled out Messenger Rooms globally in May, it was probably hoping to become the top video call service. With Zoom and Google Meet in the way, that hasn't happened yet. But the company has added some new features and changes to Messenger Rooms that may entice more users to it.

We have been talking about Facebook mobile app dark mode for a while now. It was only two days ago that the company started testing out, but it seems that they have already rolled out the update to a few users. Keep in mind that this is not the same as Facebook lite nor third-party software that enables it, as this dark mode is from the mobile app itself.

Update 3.18.380 on Whatsapp allows users to watch videos from Facebook, Instagram and Youtube while in chat, eliminating the need to leave the app just to watch a video. This update is called Picture-in-Picture (PiP) and is now available on Android. If you’re an iPhone user, you may need to wait till January for the update to hit iOS.

Whatsapp has announced that it will stop the support for certain operating systems on Android and iOS such as iOS 7 and older as well as Android Gingerbread 2.3.7 and older.
