Hyetis Crossbow smartwatch to offer 41MP camera at $1200

After the recent Ubuntu Edge introduction, all sorts of startups promising super-high-end tech gadgets seem to be coming up and Hyetis is no different. The only difference is that rather than a smartphone, Hyetis are aiming for a smartwatch called the Hyetis Crossbow that will feature a 41MP camera sensor along with a whole bunch of other high-end features. The company has come up with a number of renders for the device and have stated that it will have a zoom lens with a ring flash, noise-cancelling microphone, GPS, Biometric sensors, WiFi, NFC and Bluetooth while supporting Android, iOS and Windows Phone 8 smartphones. While we're thinking an additional fingerprint scanner sounds just a bit far-fetched, such a smartwatch would probably merit the asking price of $1200 (RM3933) which Hyetis wants for it. There aren't any details on how they'd fit in a battery that could support all this and last for a day but if you're interested do check out the Hyetis site.

Building the Ubuntu Edge - Get world's most powerful smartphone today

Canonical is the main company developing Ubuntu and have come to the conclusion that the best device for convergence between your computer devices is a smartphone. They've also realized that all the really cool hardware takes several years of testing, feasibility and analysis before they actually arrive in devices and because of that, we probably won't see the ultimate convergence device (smartphone) until we all have some grey hairs here and there. For that reason, they have created a crowd-funding campaign to create this ultimate convergence device / smartphone called the Ubuntu Edge.
