Muslims in Malaysia and all around the globe are set to welcome the holy month of Ramadan tomorrow, a time for reflection and togetherness. In conjunction with the festivities, popular messaging platform WhatsApp has shared several tips and ideas on how to use the app to create new memories with loved ones this Ramadan below:

Ever since Facebook took charge of the WhatsApp messaging platform, the company has added more features to it which no longer just a simple messaging app anymore. Recently, WhatsApp has just added a “Shopping Button” and today, the company continues on with an “ADD TO CART” feature.

We first found out that WhatsApp has been working on a self-deleting feature last month. The feature has since been renamed from Disappearing Messages to Delete Messages and has gotten some minor changes in the recent beta 2.19.348 Android version of the app.

Both Twitter and WhatsApp have just launched new updates. The new feature on Twitter makes your feed fills with topics of your interest whereas WhatsApp is adding more security with your group chats.

If you were wondering why Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger couldn’t load, here’s why. According to DownDetector, the services were down at around 8PM last night and it seems like the outage was global. 

I’m sure you’ve all seen the Status tab on your WhatsApp. It is essentially the same thing as Facebook Stories and Instagram Stories. However, I don’t believe that many people actually use that feature on the app but that may just change. 

WhatsApp has announced that starting next year, users will begin to see ads in the messaging app on both Android and iOS. The first ads will be implemented into WhatsApp status, a feature similar to Instagram stories on the app.

A serious vulnerability on Whatsapp has allowed spyware to be installed both Android and iOS devices. The vulnerability was found to have happened through voice calls on the app where the virus was able to install itself onto any device without the users even having to answer the call.

Pretty much everyone we know in Malaysia is using Whatsapp. Its convenient and allows users to communicate via text over different devices regardless of type and brand. However, we may not be able to communicate with our friends on the Windows phone and older Android and iOS devices as Whatsapp will no longer be available on that device.
