We've seen quite a few leaked pics and videos of the upcoming Apple iPad 5. Many of them confirm that it will look a lot like the Apple iPad mini but a recent video has surfaced showing off the exact measurements of the Apple iPad 5 compared to the previous generation Apple iPad 4. The most obvious tech spec differences is the width, thinness and weight as the Apple iPad 4 is 185.7mm wide and 9.4mm thick while the Apple iPad 5 is 169.5mm wide, 7.2mm thick and about 37% lighter. While there isn't any news on Malaysia release dates or pricing just yet, many are estimatng the Apple iPad 5 and Apple iPad mini 2 may arrive on 15 October 2013. Various reliable sources expected that Apple's should announce the newest iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 this month.  As is tradition for Apple, the event should held on 22nd October.

The focus of the event will be on the 5th generation full size iPad as well as the second generation iPad mini. The new iPad 5 is expected to be thinner, lighter and overall smaller because of reduced bezels. The second generation iPad mini 2 to get the same treatment, expected along with a new retina display. Rumors saying that Apple will putting the fingerprint scanner onthem but it is not been confirmed yet.

The next Apple devices to be announced now cover Apple's tablet lineup and rumours about the Apple iPad 5 have cropped up. Now, we've seen quite a few of these pictures and images, but nearly all of them have been blurry or look like the work of a 3D renderer with too much time on his or her hands. These new pics show the Apple iPad 5 being held and are also quite clear to boot. They also seem to confirm that the next Apple iPad 5 will feature an Apple iPad mini-like design, complete with narrower bezels and a slimmer slate like profile. Usually when a tech device like a smartphone or a tablet is called a Mini, it means that it is a cut down or lower-end version of the main device that it takes it's name from. This seems to be the general feeling that most users get before thinking about getting the Apple iPad Mini. However, they couldn't be further from the truth as this little 7.9-inch tablet packs in a whole bunch of features within a just as excellently designed casing as the original Apple iPad. Apple has released invitations for a possible reveal event on 10 September 2013 for the US, but has also released invitations for an event in China on 11 September 2013. Other invitations were also sent out for Japan and Germany. All invitations feature the same colourful dot design but rumours are that the China version event may show off theApple iPad 5 as a new video showing off the iPad 5 parts compared to the Apple iPad 4 has surfaced. The video shows what we've been guessing for quite some time now, that the iPad 5 will feature a more iPad Mini look with narrower bezels and thinner design.

This isn't the first time we've heard about the next Apple iPad or Apple iPad 5 having a more compact and narrow look nor is it the first time we've seen the Apple iPad Mini like front panel. However, these new pics show the front panel with much better lighting and not in the dark nor is it too blurry to actually see. These slightly clearer pics confirm what we saw earlier, a more Apple iPad mini like look for the Apple iPad 5, right down to the smaller side bezels and narrower look. Still no exact release dates in Malaysia or pricing so do check out the pics for yourself.

Pictures showing off the rear aluminum housing for the upcoming Apple iPad 5 or 5th generation Apple iPad have recently leaked. A closer look at the housing confirms that it will go for an Apple iPad mini like design, one with thinner narrower bezels and an overall narrower look than the previous generation tablet. The proof is in the numbers, or in this case the measurements where the back housing is 168mm wide compared to the previous generation which was 185mm wide. While this may result in less space, the screen and height are expected to remain the same with the side bezels shrinking to retain the original screen size. Other changes include dual stereo speakers on the bottom and an updated volume rocker button. No news when this new Apple iPad 5 would be available (in Malaysia or around the world) or for how much but it should be soon. While a whole bunch of Apple iPhone leaked images have appeared, from the plastic Apple iPhone Lite to the upcoming Apple iPhone 5S, this is the first time we've seen the iPhone 5S in gold. Featuring the same aluminum unibody chassis with a metallic gold backplate (and teal green Apple logo and wording) the image leak is shown side by side an existing Apple iPhone (or iPhone 5S) and the supposedly plastic Apple iPhone Lite. Whether or not these are real or just cheap knockoffs can't be ascertained just yet as both the real and fake versions come from China, which is where the leaked image of the gold Apple iPhone 5S comes from as well.

If the one thing stopping you from buying an Apple iPad mini is the lack of a Retina Display and you're waiting for the next generation to put it in then you may have to wait until 2014 before it becomes available. Rumours have cropped up that the Apple iPad mini 2 may be postponed to early 2014 due to a shortage in supply for Retina screens. The Apple iPad mini was previously reported to be coming in Q4 of 2013.

Reports published recently have shown signs that the next versions of the Apple iPad (in this case Apple iPad 5) and Apple iPad mini (Apple iPad mini 2) may be coming soon. As usual the report comes from the parts and supply chain and indicates that the new 9.7-inch Apple iPad may be introduced in September. Parts suppliers are ready for production with no expected changes to existing specs. However, this isn't what is being said about the next Apple iPad mini.
