Perodua recently revealed their C2 or Chapter 2 prototype concept EV for the B2 segment at KLIMS 2026 (Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show). It showcases their design language for their next generation of EVs or electric vehicles. Perodua previously released the QV-E EV with its battery leasing plan to a rather lackluster reception. 

SAIC Motor Malaysia has officially begun local production of the MG S5 EV, marking a major milestone for the brand’s expansion in Malaysia. The first locally assembled unit rolled off the production line at the PEPS-JV Assembly Facility, signalling the start of domestic manufacturing for MG vehicles in the country. The ceremony was attended by several government and industry representatives, including Ab Rauf Yusoh, Chief Minister of Melaka, alongside state officials and executives from the automotive sector.

While some car enthusiasts love the roar of a powerful combustion engine, more consider EVs are the future. But EVs are far from mainstream, as there are many technological bottlenecks to overcome like the battery. Recently, sources found a Xiaomi patent related to EV batteries.

Today, Xiaomi just announced the corporation has completed a business registration of Xiaomi EV Company Limited. EV stands for electric vehicle and this officially marks Xiaomi's first debut and a milestone in the automotive industry.

The parent company of Harman-Kardon, JBL and AKG will be purchased by Samsung for a staggering USD 8 billion (~RM 35 billion) in a deal that give Samsung a significant presence in the large and rapidly growing market for connected technologies.
