As time passes by, the pandemic has crippled many local businesses, especially impacting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). With this in mind, many individuals have taken the matter into their own hands such as the White Flag movement and other corporations as well. This includes Celcom in collaboration with other brands.

The Celcom MEGA plan has been around for more than a year but today, the company has finally decided to expand it with new passes. From now onwards, customers who are subscribed to Family Lines can now choose Lightning or Unlimited passes to their preference or subscribe to new MEGA Unlimited and Lightning passes. Today, Celcom just announced an all-new convergence plan called Celcom MAX. It's a new hybrid data plan which combines both home and mobile Internet services, allowing customers to utilize the current digital lifestyle during the pandemic in terms of learning, working and playing from home. 

Today, Celcom released their latest Q4 2020 Business Performance report. Finance reports are generally not very exciting to read here but we noticed that there's some interesting information. From the title suggest, the blue telco will indeed shut down the 3G network at the end of 2021.

In view of the on-going MCO, Celcom has just announced that they will be offering free 88GB hotspot and Internet data quota for their Xpax consumers. As for the Mega postpaid users, they can enjoy a new Mix and Match promo. 

Today, Celcom just announced some new add-on features to the Celcom XP Lite plans. From the company's website, the said-plan just got upgraded with free access to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and WeChat.

Back in July 2020, Celcom silently upgraded some of their monthly internet data quota for their MEGA plan and LIGHTNING series pass. The blue telco did it again but this time, they have increased the internet speed, monthly hotspot and the monthly internet family line.

As more cases pop up around Malaysia, it seems that one of Celcom's employees has been tested positive for COVID-19. However, this is from its retail outlet, Bluecube in Sandakan, Sabah and he's currently waiting for second test results with mild symptoms.

Just yesterday, we reported that some local telcos including U Mobile, Celcom and Maxis were fined by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for having fake prepaid SIM card registration. In responding to the matter, Celcom has reached out to us with an official statement below.

Last night, all eyes were on the new ASUS and Lenovo gaming smartphones but it seems that Celcom have updated their MEGA plans silently. From their website, the blue telco's MEGA plans got a major upgrade and every Celcom postpaid users now have more Internet data pool than ever.
