News & Reviews:   Grab Malaysia announce

New update - Respecting the latest update from our Prime Minister announced this afternoon, Grab will be suspending the “self pick-up” option which was launched today. Grab is supportive of the government’s initiatives in flattening the curve of Covid-19 and will continue to work closely with relevant authorities during these trying times.

It's now Day 6 and Grab Malaysia have announced more updates on their services during this Movement Restriction Order period. While we are still able to go out to grocery stores and hypermarkets to resupply our food stock, we can now do our own "Self-Pickup" on GrabFood as well as Pasar on GrabMart. Here's how it works. 

Just yesterday, Grab Malaysia announced that their services will go on as usual and same goes to foodpanda. However, foodpanda also announced that they have implemented a new contactless delivery method and it seems that Grab Malaysia will follow suit with a bunch of other new updates as well.  

While this may look surreal, the Movement Restriction will begin from 18 March until 31 March 2020 as an initiative to minimize the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak. The government has ordered all private businesses to be closed down until further notice and many were wondering if Grab will cease operation. Thankfully, they are not.

Today, Grab Malaysia have announced a new insurance deal called Ride Cover. According to their blog page, you only need to pay RM0.35/ride and this will cover an accident during your eligible Grab ride in Malaysia or even if your ride comes late after 15 minutes. So how does this all work? We got it covered.

Just a heads-up, the e-hailing regulations in Malaysia will take effect starting from 12 October 2019 onwards. What this means is that ordering a ride might take longer than usual, and Grab Malaysia has released a statement so this is what they have to say. 

Rejoice, durian lovers! The #GrabDurian promo is back by Grab Malaysia and it will be a month-long Musang King party. Starting from 26 until 28 July period, this will be exclusive for GrabPay customers where they get to enjoy a Musang King durian at a special discounted price of RM20/KG via GrabPay e-wallet.

Today, Digi has announced their new partnership with Grab Malaysia in order to reward both Grab customers and driver-partners a new ride experience. The collaboration will go for a year long and this will allow Grab customers to enjoy entertainment on-the-go with 1000 in-car infotainment tablets powered by Digi's 4G Plus network, as well as a better and convenient reward system.

Grab announced that they are expanding to four more major cities, bringing the total of cities they service in Malaysia to nine major cities. Effective March 15, Grab will be available as an alternative mode of transportation in Ipoh, Kuantan, Kuching and Seremban (which includes the districts of Nilai and Port Dickson too!).

Now that the Pokémon Go fever has been spread throughout Malaysia, Grab Malaysia is now offering a special promotion of RM5 off for two rides TO or FROM any "PokéArea" via cash or debit/credit card for their economy GrabCar ride. Starting tomorrow on 9 until the 15 August 2016, this promotion is exclusively for Pokémon Go Trainers in Klang Valley, Penang and Johor Bahru.
