Love it or hate it, the Dynamic Island feature on the iPhone 14 Pro series has been the talk of the tech world recently. However, the current implementation of the interactive island over the device’s pill-shaped display cutout may soon change in iOS 16.1 as Apple recently added a grey border around the Dynamic Island in the latest version of the iOS beta.

Since its unveiling by Apple, the iPhone 14 Pro series’ Dynamic Island feature has been the talk of the tech world, with many developers even attempting to emulate the concept on Android. Now, there’s even an app called ‘dynamicSpot’ by an Android developer named Jawomo that would put Dynamic Island on your Android device.

Despite a few notable bugs at launch, it looks like iOS 16 is a hit with iPhone users as more users are adopting the new OS compared to iOS 15 last year. This is according to data from analytics company Mixpanel, whereby some 9 days after the release of iOS 16, it has already been installed in 23.26 per cent of iPhones.

Earlier this month, we reported that iPadOS 16 may potentially be delayed and not be released together with iOS 16. Now, Apple themselves have come out with a statement to confirm the matter, saying that iPadOS 16 won’t be getting a public release until after iOS 16 has been rolled out to supported iPhones.

A new survey on mobile phone security habits and sentiments found that 49% of Android users are considering switching to Apple’s iPhone due to a ‘perceived superiority’ the latter has in security and privacy. The survey, conducted by Beyond Identity also found that 76% of Apple users feel more secure with iOS.

The smartphone world is pretty much dominated by two operating systems, Apple’s ‘wall-gardened’ iOS on the iPhone and the other being Google’s open source Android on a slew of devices. Currently, ads only appear on the Apple App Store's main "Search" tab and in the Search results, but it seems like they're spreading to even more places with this new report. According to 9to5Mac, the tech giant is adding a new ad slot to its "Today" homepage tab and on individual app pages.
