The Deputy Minister of Communication and Multimedia (K-KOMM), Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin has urged for the Federal Government to adopt cryptocurrency as legal tender in Malaysia. Claiming that crypto is ‘the future of finance’, Zahidi also said that his ministry will be looking into ways to increase youths' involvement in digital currencies.
The K-KOMM Deputy Minister made the statement in the Dewan Rakyat today in reply to a supplementary question from the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ledang, Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh. The latter asked K-Komm on the government’s stance on non-fungible tokens (NFTs) trading which are becoming more popular in our country.

Following the hilarious tweeting comments on the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (MCMC)'s Twitter page just some time ago, the group has just announced that they have set up a committee for the Investigation of Improper Trial Case in 2014 on their Twitter account. The committee is chaired by Deputy Secretary-General (Telecommunication Infrastructure and Digital Economy), Tan Chuan Ou and four members.

Earlier today, the Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, has sparked a conversation among Malaysians by his speech regarding the National Film Development Corporation (FINAS) Act. It was announced that anyone who makes "films" should apply for license before distributing them for public view. Since the definition of "films" hasn't been clarified enough, the minister has shared a statement on social media to explain further about it.
