Over the weekend, there was an announcement from the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM) regarding Internet access in Malaysia. According to Deputy Minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin, he said that the KKMM remains committed to ensure that the rural areas can have a better Internet experience with better facilities to be on par with cities.

While many have returned to their offices, there are others who have been told to remain from home. For these people, local telcos have all provided 1GB of mobile data daily so that they can have internet access at home. On TM's side though, unifi Mobile is also going to provide 1GB of 4G LTE data daily.

When the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) announced free 1GB of mobile data per day, it was a move that many welcome. But many people are hoping for more, including an MP in Sabah, who has called for telcos in Malaysia to provide unlimited mobile data during the movement control order (MCO).
