Walletless or electronic payment in Malaysia is taking a big step forward as Samsung Malaysia Electronics and Maybank jointly announced that Samsung Pay is now in open beta for Malaysia. It is exclusive to Maybank Visa debit, credit or prepaid card holders and compatible Samsung smartphones. This exclusive access is available from 9 December to 31 December 2016.

Samsung Malaysia have just announced their collaboration with Lazada in their ‘Unbox the Wonders of Home’ year-end online campaign offering up to 30% cashback, free gifts, 2-years Samsung Warranty, 0% Installment Payment Plan, free delivery (with purchases above RM500) and more. The campaign is in conjunction with Lazada’s Online Revolution campaign with Samsung's promotion ending on 31 January 2017.

Today, Samsung Malaysia Electronics has launched a new Samsung SMART Library at their premises. The SMART Library is part of the Samsung Global Corporate Citizenship initiative that employs Samsung technology and expertise for the betterment of local communities, with that, it serves as a digital-publication reading zone initiative that is made available exclusively for members of the training centre. The latest SMART Library is a collaboration between Samsung Malaysia and Pusat Latihan Polis Kuala Lumpur (PULAPOL KL).

Samsung recently revealed 2 new videos in conjunction with Malaysia's National Day and they include the "No More" music video by rapper Sonaone using Samsung's Gear 360 video camera showcasing Kuala Lumpur's landmarks along with Bread and Butter Pudding with Chef Nik Imran and the Samsung HotBlast Smart Oven. If you have a Samsung device, this may be of use to you. Samsung Malaysia announced that they are now offering the Samsung Smart Warranty for selected devices on sale right now. By buying in the warranty the device warranty will be extended by a year,  from only RM 49. 

If you are a Samsung Galaxy user, you are in for a treat! On 4 May 2016 at 10 AM, the first 500 users to launch the Galaxy Life app and click on the privilege will allow you to redeem free return flights to Bangkok via AirAsia.

According to the research firm TrendForce, their findings shows that Samsung has shipped twice as many smartphones than its nearest rival, Apple. The numbers shows that the Korean company has dominated the market, grabbing over a quarter of the marketshare worldwide.

Just before the weekend last week, Samsung Malaysia Electronics held a 3S Smart Service contest for its service centre (SVCs) and call centre (CCC) staffs nationwide. The 3S represents Samsung’s customer service philosophy and motto, which are speed, solution and satisfaction.

The purpose of the contest was to serve as an ideal platform for customer service officers to improve their customer service skills, product and technical knowledge to continuously strive and to respond to the customers’ needs with top class quality services .

If you’re a Samsung or LG fan and hoping that they will include 4K display on their smartphones in the future, well it’s not going to happen. And it’s not that they don’t know how to do that, but both of the big giants have decided to pass that...at least according to a Korean publication source. 

We don’t know if that’s true or not, since neither Samsung and LG officially stated that. But one of the reasons for adopting the 4K display for their smartphones is because the market for it seems too niche at the moment, and they would prefer to focus more on improvising the power draw and outdoor visibility of their current display lines (the 1440p panels).

Samsung Electronics has managed to maintain its position as the highest ranking HDTV manufacturer for the 2015 J.D. Power HDTV Satisfaction Report in the 50-inch and 50-inches or below for the second year in a row. J.D. Power surveyed more than 3750 consumers who purchased a HDTV in the past 12 months to arrive at these rankings. Satisfaction is measured on a scale of 1000 based on eight factors: overall satisfaction, performance, reliability, ease of operation, style/appearance, features, warranty and price. According to the study, Samsung ranked highest in the 50-inches and above category with a score of 871 and highest in the 50-inches and below category with a score of 856. In both categories, the brand ranked highest for overall satisfaction, performance, reliability, style and appearance, features and warranty.
