From January 2026, students in secondary schools across Singapore will no longer be allowed to use smartphones or smartwatches during any school hours. This includes times outside of lessons such as recess, breaks, and co-curricular activities (CCAs).

Ahead of the Deepavali celebrations, the Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi Malaysia (KPTM) has announced new provisions to support online and hybrid teaching and learning (PdP) modes during the festive period. This initiative aims to ensure educational continuity while allowing students and teachers to celebrate the holiday season meaningfully.

Previously, we reported on the meeting between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and Starlink. Following the virtual meeting, Anwar has since announced that the government is buying 40 Starlink internet devices for use in learning institutions in our country.

In order to combat the ongoing haze, Xiaomi has recently donated 100 units of their Mi Air Purifier 2S which is worth up to a total of RM65800 to the Ministry of Education. The air purifiers will be distributed to several schools in Johan Setia as well as Klang, due to the fact that they both have one of the highest API readings in Peninsular Malaysia. The Mi Air Purifier 2S’s air filter is designed in a cylindrical form, which is perfect for filtering air all around the purifier. Not only that, it is capable of cleaning a room up to 21 square meters in just 10 minutes as well.
