    Unifi is experiencing technical difficulties due to damaged APCN-2 submarine cable

    If you are having trouble connecting to specific website and services as of late, we may have found the reason why.  Based on a report by Amanz, Telekom Malaysia has recently mentioned that the submarine cable that connections Malaysia to other regions such as China, Japan, Taiwan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and more has been damaged.

    unifi has officially announced that all #BEBAS prepaid users will be eligible for a complimentary Weekly LTE Unlimited Pass worth RM20 from 19 March until 31 March 2020. While the pass is only valid for 7 days, you can renew it again to get another 7-day pass before the end of this month.

    unifi has recently announced starting from 1 October 2019 until 31 December 2019any new unifi Home or unifi Biz customers will be able to enjoy free internet until 31 December 2019. But that’s not all, existing customers who renewed their unifi contract within the promo period would be able to enjoy free internet until the end of 2019.

    When Unifi first introduced their Unifi Basic Plan, with speeds of up to 30Mbps for only RM79 a month. However, there is also a 60GB internet quota with the subscription plan that reduces the speed down to 512Kbps. The aforementioned data quota was never implemented due to festivities and special occasions such as Lunar New Year, until now.

    Unifi has recently updated its website to include a new Fibre Broadband package, starting from a promotional RM199 for speeds up to 300Mbps download as well as upload speeds of up to 50Mbps. Based on the FAQ document, once the promotion ends on 30 June 2019, the price will revert back to its original cost of RM259. That being said, if you sign up before the promotional period ends, the promo price of RM199 a month will be charged indefinitely until the account is terminated.

    Good news for all future TM UniFi customer, as Telekom Malaysia will be offering an expedited installation service to have the UniFi service and equipment installed within 24 hours. While the expedited service is free for now, customers who register after 31 March 2019 will need to pay an RM200 fee for it. This is due to a recent update on UniFi’s FAQ document, which is found on their official website.

    TM UniFi has announced that in conjunction with the 2019 Lunar New Year, they will be offering existing and new UniFi Basic customers an opportunity to experience unlimited quota and uncapped internet until 15 February 2019. Do take the word “uncapped” with a grain of salt and UniFi did not mention any bandwidth limitations during the promo.

    Telekom Malaysia has released a mobile app for Unifi users to check their account status, bill payments, and even get in touch with Unifi representatives through the live chat available in the mobile app. Previously all of these were only made possible through Unifi's very own web manager but with the advent of the app released, it would make account management more efficient and convenient than ever before. The app is available on the Google Play store as well as the iOS App store starting today.     Telekom Malaysia has also announced the Unifi Basic Plan next to the Unifi Turbo upgrade covered earlier. The Unifi Basic Plan is priced at RM79 a month for 30Mbps speed and it does not offer the usual HyppTV found in existing Unifi Subscription Plans. However, it is best to note that the Unifi Basic Plan also comes with a limited data quota of 60GB and if they were to finish their quota they are required to purchase additional quote add-ons. Customers are able to pre-order the Unifi Basic Plan exclusively on TM Unifi’s official website starting from 15 July 2018. For more updates like these, stay tuned to TechNave.com.
