When it comes to gaming, we know how addicting it can be especially during this pandemic period. We also know how common (and sometimes annoying) is to have your parents nagging you to sleep and Tencent is taking this on another level. In China, the company launched a facial recognition software system that will lock selected mobile games from 10 PM until 8 AM.

It seems that Tencent recently unveiled a new mobile game called Project: Fighter, which is a fighting game that’s set in the One Piece universe. As far as we know, the game will most likely be available in the Chinese market while there is no information on the global availability date for now.

If you have played PUBG Mobile at least once, you have already contributed to the mobile game's recent milestone. Tencent just announced that it has surpassed 1 billion downloads in total globally and get this - China is not even included in the number, which is most impressive.

As most Asian mobile gamers know, Tencent is one of the biggest companies that produce popular mobile game apps such as PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, Mobile Legends Bang Bang and many more. The company have also recently caught out attention that they are planning to build their own handheld gaming console that's similar to the Nintendo Switch.

Based on a statement by PUBG Mobile official website for the Indian region, it seems that they have officially pulled the plug on all PUBG Mobile services and servers starting from 30 October 2020 onwards. With that being said, if you’re residing in India, it is now impossible for you to play PUBG Mobile unless a VPN or proxy is being used.

Tension for TikTok is rising as US President Donald Trump has just issued an executive order to ban the app in 45 days. It's not just TikTok though, as WeChat just got pulled into the situation as well for the same days given for the ban. That said, WeChat belongs to Tencent Holdings Ltd in China, so does this mean that the ban could extend to PUBG Mobile and other video game companies (partially) owned by them?

As some of you have already heard, the rumours of iflix being bought over by Tencent has come to light. It is now official according to Reuters, saying that the reason why the company bought iflix is for its "content, technology and resources," in order to expand to the Southeast Asia market.
