Any platform with a high number of users can be monetised, and that seems to be what many companies intend. In the last few years, we've seen an increasing number of social media sites getting monetise in one way or another. Well, TikTok is next on the list.

A lot of people are big social media users, especially those who are younger. For the telco companies, this is a group of people that they also want to entice. Now, Digi has something new up its sleeve - a new package targeted at youngsters.

In this pandemic period, looking for a job is a real challenge. But TikTok may actually change the way we find jobs online as the company just announced TikTok Resumes. It is not an official launch globally, though, but as a pilot program to give career opportunities to TikTok users to discover hidden talented candidates.

According to sources, TikTok was down for nearly 2 hours and the users had lost their followers, following views, and likes. At the same time, the company does address the fact that the app has been down on Twitter. 

During the pandemic, more and more people have started to sign up for other social media accounts and make their own short clips. This includes TikTok and it has definitely caught a lot of attention from the youngsters, even to the point of making Instagram thinking of changing its business model to video sharing.

However, there is bound to be inappropriate videos here and there, and there are many minors below 13 years old joining the platform as well. In case you didn't know, you must be at least 13 years old and above to use it and turned out that there were many as 7 million of them pretending to be one.

In recent months, YouTube and Instagram have released their own short video services. It's clear that the formula is popular, but some people do want slightly longer videos. As such, TikTok has decided to expand in the opposite direction.

TikTok has been the trendy platform for short form videos and today the company is announcing a new feature that will allow users to embed mini apps onto their videos. The new feature is named Jumps, and it is currently in the testing phase, so only a selected group of creators have access to the feature at the moment.

Google recently made a post on their blog not too long ago, stating that they will be developing a TikTok-like product for the workplace called Threadit. Just like TikTok, it allows users to send small video messages to other team members to communicate quickly and concisely along with visual aid.

Based on a statement by techcrunch, it seems that Facebook might be developing a TikTok-like app that’s geared more towards sharing rap called BARS. The app lets users record themselves rapping to pre-made music on the platform which can be shared on the app itself, as well as to other social media.
