    Xiaomi will reportedly mass-produce Redmi's 300W fast charging technology

    Previously, we reported on the world’s first 300W fast charging technology by Redmi which can fully recharge a smartphone in just 5 minutes. While Xiaomi was only showcasing the technology on a Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition then, it looks like the super-fast charging speed is coming to the mainstream soon.

    Chinese tech giant Xiaomi recently released the Redmi Note 11SE in India which not only has a new naming structure but may also be the start of a new trend with smartphones under the Redmi sub-brand. Get this, the Note 11SE is the first Redmi smartphone to not include a charger inside the box, which may also be implemented in future Redmi devices.

    Redmi today announced the release of the Redmi 10C in Malaysia, the latest entry of its popular Redmi 10 series budget smartphones. Priced from just RM559, the device packs quite a punch and is part of Redmi’s overall mission to make high-quality products more accessible.

    The standout feature of the 10C has got to be the Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor powering the device. Built on a 6nm process, the chip offers a max clock speed of 2.4GHz and is paired with 4GB of RAM.

    Based on a statement by a user on weibo, it seems that the upcoming Redmi smartphone could come equipped with a large 6000mAh internal battery which supports 22.5W fast charging. While not much is known in regards to the exact release date, we do know that it will most likely be unveiled before the end of 2020.

    Xiaomi made several announcements recently which included the release of their latest update to their MIUI Android interface, MIUI 7. New features include face recognition in Gallery and much more with the official launching happening in India on 19 August 2015. The company also announced the official release of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime from 799 CNY (RM503) and 999 CNY (RM628) respectively. Notable tech specs and features include the latest MediaTek Helio X10 processor, a 13MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus and an IR blaster remote control function. In related news, Xiaomi also announced their Mi Wi-Fi Nano PCB smart router for 79 CNY (RM49). No Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet but we expect the Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime to arrive in Malaysia soon. Check out the full tech specs and pics below:

    Xiaomi announces 'Make in India' initiative with India-manufactured Redmi 2 Prime smartphone

    Xiaomi recently announced that it will manufacture devices locally in India in support of the current 'Make in India' Initiative. Partnering with Foxconn Technology Group, this initiative has resulted in the announcement of the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime, a version of the Redmi 2 with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage for 6999 rupees (RM431) that is to be manufactured wholly in India. Other tech specs and features include a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 4.7-inch HD display and dual SIM 4G LTE connectivity. Production on the Redmi 2 Prime has already begun at the Sri City factory with units produced there to be sold in India. No Malaysia release dates yet for a Redmi 2 Prime here but it could eventually mean more affordable Xiaomi devices in the future.

    The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has apparently appeared on China's TENAA looking much like the Redmi Note. Apparently there may be two versions, one with an octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor and one with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615. Other tech specs are the same with 2GB RAM, 16/32GB storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and 3020 mAh battery. The rumoured fingerprint scanner is not on this Redmi Note 2 but it could appear on another upcoming Xiaomi device soon. As it is, there are no Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet.

    Mi Malaysia recently announced that they will be bringing in the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Enhanced with 2GB RAM for RM459. The smartphone will be available on 16 July 2015 from 12PM at the Mi Malaysia site. Tech specs remain mostly the same with a 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor and 2GB RAM but there is also 16GB worth of storage, double that of the 8GB storage on the Redmi 2. The Redmi 2 is currently retailing for RM399 so another RM60 for double the RAM and storage is a fairly good deal. Check out the full Xiaomi Redmi 2 Enhanced tech specs and features below:

    Xiaomi News: 34.7 million smartphones sold, new CFO and new Brazil market

    Xiaomi recently announced several news including that as of the first half of 2015 they've managed to sell 34.7 million smartphones. This has allowed them to maintain their ranking as China's top smartphone vendor in terms of market share for the fifth consecutive quarter. The Mi 2, Mi 3RedmiRedmi NoteMi 4 and Redmi 2 in particular have so far shipped over 10 million units each. In related news, they have also appointed former partner of international investment fund DST Shou Zi Chew as their new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Other big name joins include former president of Qualcomm Greater China, Wang Xiang who became senior vice president of strategic cooperation at Xiaomi. Xiaomi have also announced their entry into new markets such as Brazil with their Redmi 2 smartphone going for as low as 499 BRL (RM599). No news yet of any other Xiaomi releases for Malaysia but stay tuned for more developments.

    In conjunction with their upcoming Mi Fan Festival on 8 April 2015, Xiaomi have also announced new products including the Xiaomi Redmi 2A for RMB 599 (RM357) but as an added bonus they will also cut this price down to RMB 499 (RM298) during the Mi Fan Festival. While the Redmi 2A shares the same 4.7-inch screen and looks as the Xiaomi Redmi 2, it will use a different processor and somewhat cut-down tech specs which you can see below. Xiaomi also announced the Mi Note Pink Edition smartphone along with the Mi TV 2 55”, Mi Power Strip and Mi Smart Scale. No news on Malaysia release dates or pricing for either the Redmi 2A or the Mi Note Pink Edition yet, but we don't think it will be available for the Mi Fan Festival here in Malaysia just yet.
