Now that Android 11 has officially launched, we're seeing a lot of brands making that transition for their devices. But they're not the only one, as Google has begun to upgrade some of its other platforms as well. Specifically, the company has confirmed that Android TV will be getting upgraded.

With so many people glued to their TV screens for digital content these days, it's not surprising to see that Google has decided that Android TV would get the Android 11 upgrade next. This upgrade will bring the new features from Android 11 to the big screens and is probably in preparation for its upcoming Chromecast Android TV dongle, which is expected to be launched on 30 September 2020.

So, what's new for Android TV? For one, Android 11 on the platform means better performance thanks to improved memory management. There will also be new privacy features like one-time permissions. Besides that, Android TV will get a new Auto Low Latency Mode, low latency media decoding, and better gamepad support. We're guessing that some of these improvements are for better Google Stadia support.

The new Chromecast will probably launch with Android 11, but Android TV devices from other brands are also expected to get the upgrade in the coming months. Stay tuned to TechNave.com for more updates on that!
