Before its arrival, the Apple Watch Series 6 is already rumoured to bring many impressive features including blood oxygen level detectionnew parental controls, and mental health detection. Now, it looks like there will be a few more other stuff to be added as a new patent revealed yoga pose tracking ability with a thermometer.

The patent titled 'Pose and heart rate energy expenditure for yoga' has revealed that the upcoming watch is able to track users' energy expenditure during yoga accurately. The watch will use the heart rate and motion data to detect the type of pose that a user is doing to determine the energy that he or she is expending. With the help of the thermometer, the watch is also able to take a skin temperature reading to find out if the user is doing hot yoga, so it can adjust the measurements accordingly.

The existing Apple Watch can actually track yoga as well, but it looks like the system patented will provide more accurate tracking with some hardware upgrades. As for the thermometer, it is new as the current model can't read skin temperature. It is also unsure whether Apple will just use the thermometer only for yoga tracking, or for other purposes as well. True or not, take this patent with a grain of salt as not all patents will be making the way to the final stage.
