Apple Watch Series 7 might prioritise larger battery instead of new sensors

Renders from Jon Prosser

Last month, it was rumoured that the Apple Watch Series 7 could come with some new sensors. We even have renders of what should be a major redesign, which suggests that new hardware is possible. However, that may not be the case after all.

According to Economic News Daily (via Wccftech), the Apple Watch Series 7 will feature a smaller S7 chip to free up more space. The extra space would then be used for a larger battery or new sensors. Currently, nobody knows which option Apple would choose. But while adding more sensors could be a technical challenge, adding a larger battery shouldn't be difficult.

The new model is expected to have flat edges

Besides the new chip and possibly larger body, insiders claimed that there would be a new design and colours to attract buyers. This lines up with the previous rumour, which suggested that the Apple Watch Series 7 would have flat edges and a new green colour. The device is also expected to have smaller bezels, so the display should also be larger.

While we think a larger battery is the more likely outcome, Apple might surprise us and upgrade the new model differently. If it was you, what would you like to see changed in the Apple Watch Series 7? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned to TechNave for further updates about it.
