Apple released its latest iPhone lineup, the Apple iPhone 14 series earlier this month and today, the tech giant revealed a new arrangement for the manufacturing of the smartphone lineup. In a statement, Apple revealed that moving forward, the iPhone 14 will be manufactured in India.
As reported by Reuters, this move is part of Apple’s plans to move away its production from China, which include its recent exploits in Vietnam for the manufacturing of MacBooks, Apple Watch, iPads and AirPods. Furthermore, according to analysts at J.P. Morgan, Apple is expected to move approximately 5 per cent of iPhone 14 production from late 2022 to India.
India is the world’s second-biggest smartphone market after China and J.P. Morgan also predicted that one out of four iPhones will be made in India by 2025. However, no official figures were released by Apple just yet on how many per cent of its iPhone 14 production will be made in India.
In the statement today, Apple only revealed that it is excited to be manufacturing iPhone 14 in India. Moreover, the tech giant also lauded its latest iPhone lineup for introducing groundbreaking new technologies and important safety capabilities.
