You can get third-party rugged casings for your Apple Watch, but it's not quite the same

In recent months, we've seen patents for an Apple Watch with an under-display camera, as well as one with a flexible display. But sources believe that the company isn't just going to make one model this year. It's rumoured that the company is also considering launching a new model within the next year or so.

According to Bloomberg, Apple has plans to launch an Apple Watch with a rugged casing. This model will be targeted at people who want a device that can withstand extreme environments. Allegedly, the company is considering whether to launch the device in 2021 or 2022. However, it's only at the internal discussion stages.

If Apple does release this model, it's expected to be an additional model to the standard Apple Watch, except with more impact resistance and other protections. Bloomberg believes that Apple will go with a concept similar to the Casio G-Shock watch series.

Of course, there's also the chance that it wouldn't happen, so don't get your hopes up. Having said that, is a rugged Apple Watch something you'd be interested in? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
