Apple iMac Pro with Apple M1 chip could be launched in 2022

A few weeks back, there was a rumour claiming that Apple would be releasing a new iMac Pro this year. Like the new iMac model launched here in May, it's expected to come with the Apple M1 chip. But it would seem that the launch date has been moved to next year.

According to @dylandkt (via Wccftech), Apple will launch the new iMac Pro sometime in 2022. The company allegedly wants to avoid the scenario where this model would take away attention from its upcoming Apple M1X-powered Mac devices, which are expected to launch in Q4 2021. Presumably, this would ensure that the media attention would be focused on these products.

In a way, that kind of makes sense. The iMac Pro and other Mac devices are completely different product categories, so there shouldn't be any worries of sales being cannibalised. For instance, a professional could have an iMac Pro for the office, but might still want a MacBook Pro for working on the go. Of course, we're not marketing experts, so don't take our word for it.

As usual, don't expect Apple to comment on this unless it's true and they want to announce it. In other words, take the rumour with a grain of salt. Having said that, do you think launching the iMac Pro with the Apple M1X Mac devices would make you pick one over the other? Let us know! And for more news like this, do stay tuned to TechNave.com.
