Since 2021, Apple gave consumers an option to get an iPhone 12 mini variant and that went on until the iPhone 13 series. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, there is a serious stock shortage of the iPhone 13 mini.
In his notes, the iPhone 13 mini is requiring 2-3 weeks or even up to a 6-7 weeks shipping period. With the Apple Event coming very soon, there's a good chance that the iPhone 13 mini may get discontinued. The iPhone 14 mini doesn't exist and this allowed the 13 mini as a low-cost option but it's quite an unpopular demand
Research firm CIRP estimated that the iPhone 13 mini accounted for just 3% of overall iPhone 13 sales in the U.S., Before that, the iPhone 12 mini had below-average sales and it was the least-sold model among the iPhone 12 series. Strangely, even though Apple switched its strategy to a bigger device, the iPhone 14 Plus pre-orders were reportedly worse than the iPhone 13 mini.
We think that perhaps due to the existence of the iPhone SE, it may had some influence over the iPhone mini devices. It's also not uncommon for Apple to discontinue a certain iPhone model to make way for the new lineup. Speaking of that, we are expecting to see the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (or iPhone 15 Ultra). The livestream is at 1 AM on 13 September on Apple's YouTube channel, official website and Apple TV+.
