Last time, we have heard news like OPPO is going to build their own chipset while Apple will be building 5G modems for the iPhones. These days, it seems like it is a good idea for tech companies to supply themselves components that are needed to produce their products, not to say after witnessing Huawei coming through the trade war. Going back to Apple, the tech giant is rumoured to launch new MacBooks without Intel processors this year, and will use self-made processors instead.

The rumour of Apple making its own alternative MacBook processors is not a new one, as the company used to have problems with Intel processors including supply and security issues. Taking the matter into own hands, Apple’s custom-designed ARM processors will finally arrive before the end of 2020 or Q1 of 2021, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Other than that, Kuo has also said that the new MacBooks will be having a different keyboard mechanism that is called Scissor switch, instead of using the Butterfly switch. He has also added that a new 14.1-inch MacBook will be introduced in order to match the bigger 16-inch model. True or not, we will still believe that Apple definitely has the ability to up the game for its MacBook family.
