When Valve first announced the Steam Deck back in July, some people were concerned with how well it would perform. Soon after, Valve's Pierre-Loup Griffais claimed that it could hit at least 30FPS in most games. And it looks like Valve has made good on that promise.
A Chinese blogger performed extensive benchmarks and found that the Steam Deck can hit 60FPS in many AAA games at decent image quality. It even managed 30FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at native resolution (1280x800). Mind you, the benchmarks were performed on a development kit. This means the console's specs and settings should more or less be what the retail unit would be, though we can also expect some improvements.

One of the games tested was Shadow of The Tomb Raider, which managed an average of 36FPS at high-quality settings and over 60FPS at native resolution. The Steam Deck also managed an average of 46FPS for Doom Eternal in medium settings and 20-30FPS for Cyberpunk 2077 on high-quality settings. It was also reported that the battery for the console went from 100% to 46% in 3 hours. That means it should have at least 5 hours of battery life, which is quite decent.
The Steam Deck is an exciting product for those who want to play PC games on the go. But we have no idea if Valve would make it available in our region. If they do, would you be interested in getting one? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more updates about it.
