It's been months since we started compiling the monthly fees for different telco services, and we hope you've found them useful. So far, we've noticed that broadband options seem to change the least. Regardless, here are the best value broadband plans for those on a budget as of May 2023.

Best broadband options under RM100

For broadband plans, you're more likely to see some bonus goodies rather than big promos. Of course, that's not to say there aren't any.

Case in point, the CelcomDigi Fibre deal is still available and probably won't go away anytime soon. Those with selected Celcom or Digi postpaid plans can get a massive rebate on the monthly bill. And as a promotion, new customers can sign up now and enjoy the 300Mbps plan at just RM75 for 6 months.

For alternatives, the TIME Fibre Home 100Mbps plan is an option. It gives you pretty fast Internet speeds at an affordable price, and the connection is generally quite stable. But the caveat is it's only available in high-rise buildings. If you want a more portable plan, the Yes Wireless Fibre is still on promo so it's a good deal.

  • Astro Fibre 50Mbps (RM99/month) - Free WiFi-6 router, first month's bill waived, 24-month contract
  • CelcomDigi Fibre 300Mbps (RM100/month, with Celcom/Digi postpaid plan) - Free WiFi-6 router, free installation, RM75/month for 6 months (without Celcom/Digi postpaid plan), 24-month contract
  • Maxis Home Fibre 30Mbps (RM89/month) - Free WiFi-6 router with EasyMesh technology, RM100 Grab e-voucher, 24-month contract
  • TIME Fibre Home 100Mbps (RM99/month) - Free WiFi-5 router, first month's bill waived, 24-month contract
  • Unifi Home 30Mbps (RM89/month) - Free router, 6-month Lionsgate Play, free speed upgrade to 100Mbps for 6 months, free 30-day trial, 24-month contract
  • Yes Wireless Fibre 120Mbps (RM99/month) - Free Infinite Gateway 5G router (portable), unlimited 5G data, 150GB 4G data, 24-month contract

Best broadband options under RM200

The plans under the RM200 range are mostly the same as last month. If there's one change, it would be that TIME isn't offering free Shoppee vouchers with its plans anymore. But Unifi's Scratch & Win contest is still ongoing, so you might want to check that out.

Other than that, our recommendation remains unchanged. The TIME Fibre Home 500Mbps offers the best value for those who live in high-rise buildings. If your residence is a landed house, the Maxis Home Fibre 300Mbps and Unifi Home 300Mbps are suitable options.

  • Astro Fibre 100Mbps (RM129/month) - Free WiFi-6 router, 24-month contract
  • Astro Fibre 500Mbps (RM189/month) - Free WiFi-6 router, 24-month contract
  • Maxis Home Fibre 100Mbps (RM129/month) - Free WiFi-6 router with EasyMesh technology, 24-month contract
  • Maxis Home Fibre 300Mbps (RM149/month) - Free WiFi-6 router with EasyMesh technology, Maxperts WiFi consultation, 24-month contract
  • TIME Fibre Home 500Mbps (RM139/month) - Free WiFi-6 router, free WiFi-6 mesh, fee at RM99/month for first 6 months, 24-month contract

And that's the list for broadband in May 2023. Could there be bigger changes in June? Maybe, but you'll have to check back next month to find out. Don't forget to check our list for mobile prepaid and postpaid too.
